One ball from Bumrah flies through, the next keeps low and bowls Dawson.

Batting last won't be easy if India somehow manage to get a lead.

Not sure they'll have much time to build a lead unless Jaiswal tees off successfully

Even if they do get a lead it's not likely to be enough to put us under any kind of pressure.

Stokes out for 141. 658-9 and a lead of 300, Archer coming out to bat so no declaration

Shame Stokes couldn't get to 150 but a brilliant 95 partnership for the 9th wicket.

If England had crumbled shortly after Dawson was out, the lead would have been just over 200 with nearly 2 days to go. Now the lead is 300, as Stokes and Carse have teed off!

Carse attempts to get to his 50 but is caught on the boundary for 47. 669 all out and a lead of 311

4 Indian bowlers going for over 100 runs, beautiful scenes.

And a nasty mini session before lunch too. Against an England attack who, for once, have had a long rest between innings.

Not been a bad morning for England. Maybe they're trying to finish the game off before our Cambridge game.

The Lions win the series with a last minute try at the same time Woakes gets India 0-2... what a few minutes!

It’s been six overs now without a wicket. What are they playing at? :-)

Test cricket at its worst this afternoon. Nothing happening with either ball or bat.  Pitch seems to have settled down & nothing is troubling the batters.

    Tedious.

Not sure I'm getting this short ball tactic from Carse and Archer. Been doing it for a while. Nothings happened. KL is a great player of the short ball. Gotta try and hit the stumps occasionally.

    And PS.......

Probably bitter as I went out after Stokes was out thinking I'll only miss 15-20 mins and then it would be lunch.

Got back at 1.30 to find India were 1 for 2  !!

It shows how much we've missed Stokes, the bowler, who's been our best bowler this series.

Dawson is doing a very good job at holding down an end.
Going at less than 2 an over,  but he looks as threatening as a palace ultra.
Not blaming him or any other bowler as this wicket offers nothing to the bowlers.

I'm  not  a conspiracy theorist by any means but looking at the wickets we have played on this series it's as if  groundsmen have been told to prepare wickets that will last 5 day's as the amount of money that is lost when games finish early must be huge.
But cricket is meant to be an even contest between bat and ball.
Id hate to be a bowler on this wicket that's for sure.

I think its more about preparation for the Ashes. Flatter pitches where you have to work harder for you wickets is what we will see out there. So preparing green tops would achieve nothing in preparation this summer.

Siraj is better when Bumrah doesn’t play but obviously he isn’t as good as Bumrah and we’ve seen that the other seamers aren’t good enough either

Then he gets the choice of which end to bowl from.

    Exactly what I've been thinking.
Mind you it's preferable in my opinion to most matches ending on days 3 & 4.

This is an interesting piece by Carlos Brathwaite, who is still owed money for tournaments six-eight months after they've finished.

I can only assume Brathwaite has more money than sense because I would be knocking someone's lights out if I had to wait more than a month to get paid, let alone 8 !!

Stokes struggling with his shoulder now. Bowling on through but it is a worry for sure
