Re the celebration after the 2nd. I was in that corner and had no problem with initial knee slide (well executed tbf). But what followed was odd. Odoh hadn't been getting any stick, but clearly wanted to confront the away fans. He was then joined by practically the whole team gesturing and baiting the fans as close as they could get. A bit classless tbh and a couple of people understandably took exception to it. What followed with the over zealous stewards and the chap being dragged out quite aggressively was ridiculous. We saw the fella outside and luckily he'd not been arrested. It was all a bit unnecessary tbh. Obviously Odoh has an issue with the fact he wasn't deemed good enough for Charlton and wanted to vent that, but i reckon n 99% of the stand had no idea who he even was!
On Louis M's show today one of the others, I think Sue, said that some of our fans had been goading him earlier, "Charlton reject" type of stuff, I assume.
Did not here anything towards him, and would suggest most would not even be aware who he was
Agreed, i only found out today from a commentator on the highlights he was an ex Charlton youngster.

Their players giving it is the same as Stansfield giving it and our players giving it at Orient , it’s dickish behaviour from em all but as some have said they prolly get given some verbal so just giving it back , no one can hear everything the players hear .
The first goal killed us. We should have been one or two up by then. We knew we had to win the game and that compromised our defensive shape. Also, we are not quite as good away and we need to be a bit more clinical. It is fine margins and they are our weak areas at the moment. No reason why we can't go on another run though. Hopefully Edwards is back for Saturday.
Not sure where best to ask this so doing so here; when do away game loyalty points get added on please? My 10 due from Posh haven't appeared yet. Along with 10 from Mansfield next week that would take me to 600 which I'm hoping guarantees me a Wrexham ticket.

Points are normally added after the game has been played. Your Points from the Peterborough game should be added today.

And yes Watson clearly lets the goalscorer in behind him for the goal.
Because he heard Lloyd Jones shout to get out and leave them offside. Which is what he did. Ramsey dawdled and played them on.
I was in lline with this at the time and my initial reaction was someone playing him onside rather than a player losing him. Although as it happened quickly I didn’t know what players they were.
My Posh supporting mate said that the mistake we made was to attack them. He says their style of play suits a quick counter attack. Teams that defend deep usually come out on top against Peterborough. Not sure I agree, if we’d taken our chances then we could’ve sat deep and picked them off. That’s been my only criticism of the team recently, we need to convert more of our chances. I’m not too worried, they are the form team right now, they are super slick and clinical going forward and a decent January window meant they sorted their leaking defence. Onwards and upwards!
I give up on the logic that Mannion wasn't at fault, because he was already on his way down to handle the first back pass, so it's not his fault that he handled the 2nd back pass. Sorry to come across as argumentative but I just don't get it. The goalie knows he can't handle a back pass, so why was he going down to handle a back pass? Whether it was the first or second back pass is immaterial.
Totally Mannion's fault but he's in credit as been very solid lately - Watson's fault the goal was scored mind you, not in credit as although he tries, he's not up to it. The team then just went gay abandon from then on. A game to put behind us and forget.
Find the blaming of Watson slightly odd. He did lose his man but that wouldn't have been an issue if Ramsay was in line with the rest of the defence as the man in question would have been offside. It's one negative of having Ramsay in at CB, he isn't on the edge of line to look across it in the same way. It's one of very few weaknesses in his game but one I'm sure he will rectify in time

If was definitely Tennai’s fault. When’s the last time we conceded from a floated cross into our box before Saturday? And when would you have seen Small or Edwards let their man go completely free like that?
Seconds before it unfolds, you see him practicing going with the runner. Rewatching it, he takes his eye off the ball for just half a second at exactly the wrong moment, and by the time he’s come back around, it’s too late to react. It’s a tiny tiny error and he’s been punished harshly for it.

Just don't think it's an issue if the man is offside as he should be. The reason Watson doesn't track him is because he doesn't realise Ramsay is deeper than the rest of the backline. Sure he should probably notice it but it's not the biggest error in my opinion
One of my big issues with Watson is defensively, he is weak aerialy and doesn't stop enough crosses although he was a better at the latter on Saturday. Having said that, he wasn't in position to win the ball. I would blame him for being out of position except if he was called by Jones to play the offside, which somebody heard, then despite me not rating him, it can't be his fault.
We should just forget about it. I do have a slight lingering annoyance with Mannion for the free kick which I think was a big part of the goal and let's be honest, stupid. But hey ho.

Watson let his man past him to cross last week for Wigan's goal, and then left his man free to head in the opener on Saturday. He's a throwback to our defending of old.
Driving towards the game I was praying the torrential rain was going to stop in time for the game, driving away I was lamenting the damn rain didn't last long enough to get the flipping game called off! Bit of a laugh though watching their guy early doors trying to move the ball away from the corner puddle and the ref keep telling him it had to go back in the water
I can't believe these managed to be one of the few teams who finished a game against us with a clean sheet........ but it was more down to us and our finishing than their good defending or goalkeeping. Bad day at the office for us going forward.
Uncharacteristic mistakes leading to their first goal...... and I'm sure they'll work on it this week but we do need to find ways to limit teams who counter attack with skill and pace. Bad day at the office for us defending.
I hope Miles is back on the soonish side but whether we like it or not, until he is we'll sometimes need Chuks and Gass to come on and be proper game changers. I don't know if Chuks is playing within himself, if he isn't then my hopes are more with Gass than Chuks............
Not meant in any way as a dig but is Enslin worth his place on the bench? I know nothing about him or how he might fit in if he came on but at 3-0 down why not bring Chuks off and give him a few minutes?
No need to panic yet though Captain Mainwaring, we're still 4th, in a very tidy position and very capable of making the playoffs.......... in 3rd or 4th preferably.
And yes Watson clearly lets the goalscorer in behind him for the goal.

I'd like to think Lloyd would shout out. Not sure if that is speculation or truth but I did say that on Saturday night as in many defensive drills on the training ground you would move up in unison but you can never totally replicate the myriad of angles and starting positions. Tony Adams led the charge at Arsenal and Dixon, Winterburn and Bould/Keown would move forward and 4 hands would shoot up !
Four poor decisions by difference players(at least) led to the goal before and after the free kick and unusual for CAFC defence in '25'.
Lloyd Jones who has had an excellent season started the poor decisions after pulling back his opponent after just a few minutes near the half way line when it was unnecessary; that isn't taking one for the team. That is crass and it did impact his game for the next 90 odd minutes.
Both Jones and Ramsey made some poor decisions in that game and when our best two players do that it's infectious. Peterborough strength is going forward and has been for decades, other than the valley game recently, and exploited the mistakes.
The inquest will be happening at Sparrows this morning and we hope after various players if not the whole team are on the naughty step, we can prepare for the Huddersfield match as it becomes paramount in our aim for the play-offs.
I’ve been thinking the results have been better than our performances recently. we have probably the most pathetic shooting ability from outside the box , Docherty and Coventry are beyond lame 95% of the time where this is concerned . Our energy seemed to be lower which with a week without a game is a concern . Our lack of attacking threat will lead to our failure in The play offs my fear is we slide out of them all together. I need a win against Huddersfield to get my Charlton mojo back but can see more points dropped.
I have a stinking hangover and the doom and gloom is pouring out of me . This shithouse league is a dark cloud I need removed please .
Pretty much my thoughts.
I've thoroughly enjoyed our form, and it's been fantastic, but there's no getting away from some of the performances. The defence (aside from yesterday and Rotherham) has been fantastic, but the attack is so poor at times.
Godden is clinical and a battler, but he isn't getting enough service/he isn't creating his own chance. Chuks is finished, completely finished. Beyond slow and looks to be actively avoiding wearing himself out to me. As much as TC is great at bringing the ball up the pitch, his end product just isn't there, similar to Small.
I just hope we have done enough for top6 and can avoid a few defeats and beat the dross along the way.
Still fancy us in the play offs, as it's not always the most exciting sides that win, just think this result and the Stockport draw have been a bit too damaging.
Side note as well, yesterday sort of highlighted our poor January business other than Gilbert who has chipped in. We really could have done with some flair players, particularly in the middle for when we aren't having our day out wide.
Coventry doesn't really have a mistake in him, and Dochery is absolutely everywhere atm, but neither can strike the ball well at all, and neither can run past a man with it, could have really done with a player to mix it up in the middle.
I liked the look of those 2 Barnsley midfielders.( Based on the one game admittedly). One of them cut through us like a hot knife through butter.
Just a bit off topic, but while we are talking about the pass back rule, I can remember standing on the terrace at Sellout Park, watching a cup match i think, my memory is sketchy, and the rule had just been introduced, and we skied an attempted clearance from midway between the 18yd area and the halfway line, miscued and it flew back towards our goal and our keeper caught it, and the jobs worth ref gave an indirect free kick, think we conceded from it as well. Anyway a bit of a memory trackback there, anyone else remember it?...🤷♂️

Oh well, even the best laid plans go awry every now and then. Defend well, keep a clean sheet and grab the odd winner. For the first 35 minutes the plan was working fine. The press was text book and TC was making good headway on the left wing. But Posh have pace right across their front line and the first warning sign of this speed of thought and movement was when Jones was caught out and yellow carded.
The back pass saga has been well discussed on here but it's noteworthy that another nippy forward was rushing in on Ramsey as he passed back leading perhaps to the panic move by the keeper. The defenders were still at sixes and sevens for the resulting indirect freekick and Ramsey may have still been going through the back pass cock up in his mind when he was slow to get forward.
Pace again led to the second (and probably killer) goal. A side which had come to grab a single goal winner weren't going to score two, although Charlton did start the second half strongly.
Strange how matters change through a season. A month ago we could smile at the strength of our bench and the attacking options available. On Saturday we were looking for Chuks to produce something, anything - and we know that those days are sadly long gone.

Small has been beaten in the air for at least 2 goals this season after losing his man.

Your Points from the Peterborough game should be added today.
- we regained possession
- Mannion picked up a backpass
- we cleared the shot
- we failed to defend a cross

Line could possibly be a bit tighter sure but I think the flag stays down here regardless of Ramsay’s position. Watson has to go with his man.
