Are we really going to be going in for Blackpools 2nd choice Rb at that point we might as well just keep Tennai as a backup wingback hardly difference in quality between the pair and wouldn’t have to pay agent/signing on fees

Wouldn’t be opposed to Hakeem Odoffin. Wasn’t interested in renewing his contract at Rotherham. Clearly one of their better players in both the Championship and League One. 50+ appearances in the Scottish Prem as well.
I’ve watched him a number of times last season and he was a class above on the pitch every single time. He has it all, height, mobility and good with the ball at his feet.
I would be delighted if we got him, he’ll definitely get a championship move, who knows if that could be us now..! Here’s hoping!

No chance of us getting Kone imo. Personally not keen anyway, absolute little prick in those semi final games and has been found out against teams that can defend.
Personally would love Kone, 21, runs the channels, hardworking, a nightmare to defend against and would fit into jones’ team ethos. Reminds me of Lyle Taylor - absolute bastard to play against. I do agree, however, no chance of us getting him, have a feeling he’ll be going to a top championship club or a lower prem club that might want to take a gamble.
Absolutely no chance a prem team takes him. The only team that bid for him was a shit Luton side and that was before he scored 2 in 20 games or whatever his record was in the 2nd half of the season.
Agree - he looked pony against us. Wycombe cocked up big time not accepting that offer.
Because he was marked well in the semi finals by Our CB'S and in the away match at Wycombe in the 4-0. He played well at the valley in the league match when he came on as sub and scored a good goal down the Jimmy Seed end. He came out the Essex League and maybe the 46 game season caught up with him in his 1st year in Profession football.

Just looked at some comments on Blackpool board, long throw, wins headers, never gives up... Sounds like a Jones type of player. Played in the Championship for them and played 37 games last season. Lost his place in March when his wife gave birth, he had a week off and his understudy turned out to be excellent. On the whole the comments I read were positive... But was talk of injuries in the past... Maybe @Hertsseasider could give us a view. I think he is Blackpool iirc.

One of the old boys I drink with in my pub is a Blackpool fan.
Here's his summary:
- Athletic absolutely lightning, take 2 seconds to get into full stride - Good Engine on him up and down the pitch - Balanced going forward and back, a true Wing-Back
And he also said Blackpool play a flat 4 at the back so did not really have as much licence to go forward so an out and out RB was preferred. Said he was always going to move on for a higher league 1 team gig or a chance at a lower Championship team.
Hope this helps! I quite like the signing considering it's also a freebie if it happens plus got age on his side (26 Years Old) fills the height test at 5'10 and on that right hand side as we've seen with Ramsay and Small, they both cover one another if one goes forward.
He only played 1400 mins this season which is equivalent to 15 L1 games and he’s been fit all season. He may be what Nathan Jones wants but surely we can do better than a midtable L1 sides backup RB
The Blackpool right back we should be going for is Odel Offiah who they had on loan from Brighton. One of the best players I saw in league 1 last season

Yeah won their PotY this year.
Not just that, average match rating of 7.22 across 44 games where he started all 44 times. Extremely hard rating to get.
If you're outperforming 4 of those 5 statistically you are going to be a good player.
Overrall he finished top16 on sofascore. Top13 on whoscored.
Average of 6 headers won per match, played attacking midfielder, right mid, centre mid, defensive midfielder, centre back and right back throughout the season.
Much needed height in the team, would be a top, top pick up for us.
I know I’ve been a lone voice on here for ages about this but I think both Manion and AMB are Championshop keepers and I actually think of the two AMB is the slightly better If he leaves and he gets to play regularly which is always difficult with goalies (even Bob bolder only played when he eventually came to us) - think Darren Randolph who never got a sniff at Charlton or even neil Eldridge ( ?) they played loads of Championships and Premiership games Quite a few people here didn’t rate Nick pope but look how brilliant he turned out to be

They both have championship qualities as in Mannion has elite commanding his area and AMB is a brilliant shot stopper but doubt they both have the overall game to make the step up.

agreed, BUT I suspect that Brighton want to keep him, and if they do sell young players, it's usually for a high price .. alas I suspect he is not for us

Another very good league1 free agent with the ability to step up.
Corr, we can build a proper league 1 super team based on free agents.
Stay up, or win league1 next season with a points record
We had ( was it 27) clean sheets this season and people think we need a better keeper - I don’t think that is the place to start
Alternatively you could argue Mannion has only faced 82 shots this season with over a 1/4 of those being outside the box, he’s hardly had anything to save this year. We have no clue if he can make the step up which is why we need to prepared if he can’t with a proven championship keeper
Based on the shot stopping stats he’s a slightly below average shot stopper. Over the last 3 seasons he’s conceded 62 goals from an expected goals on target faced of 57.2. So he’s conceded 5 goals more than the average goal keeper would expect to from those shots
27 clean sheets is great and he’s done well, but even just looking at the last 3 there were only 3 shots on target across the 3 games. In the championship we could be conceding that many a half.
In league 1 it’s hard to attract a GK that is good at more than 1 or 2 parts of keeping. I think now we are in the championship we should be able to find someone with similar command of area to Mannion but also better shot-stopping as we are going to need that part a lot more next year
Young Prem up-and-coming? Modern day Scott Carson?
Comments
BWP scored 22 as we won L1, but got 1 goal the season after in the Championship.
Being good a league below the one we're in next season doesn't automatically mean players are good enough to step up.
"Transfer gossip: Charlton emerge as favourites for Blackpool defender also wanted by Reading and Doncaster Rovers"
Just thought I'd post it, but not only is it probably bollocks, it's underwhelming.

Good prospect who should get a Championship club.

For context our top 5 highest rated were:
Lloyd Jones: 7.40
Macaulay Gillesphey: 7.21
Kayne Ramsay: 7.16
Josh Edwards: 7.12
Conor Coventry: 7.11
