It’s interesting. Wonder where this leaves Zach Mitchell, assumed he would be the RCB cover. Can’t see Offiah playing as a wing back, and it would be silly to move Ramsay, when he offers so much in the wide CB role
Personally think he goes on loan again. Doubt he's up to the championship just yet.
Pretty confident that if Cawley has mentioned this then it's reasonably close to being a done deal.
I think there's a bit of confusion though, he mentioned a permanent deal in his article and a lot have assumed that to mean we're buying him rather than loaning him. But it's neither. I believe he's out of contract, so we'd basically be signing him on a free (or whatever we're told to pay in compensation).

My only nagging concern about next season is having width. I'm not 100% convinced that NJ realises it was the width that turned our season around. If he brings in a defensive-minded RWB who can't stretch the opposition, we'll look like we did in the first-half of last season.
I think it's likely we'll still play the lopsided 352, but it's not guaranteed, the position of the signings made should tell us a lot.
Would be a very good signing. It is refreshing to see us in the market for young and hungry players. Shame about Small, but we move on.. We can bring better in, and players that impact more games.

He has 12 months left on his deal
Any site i've seen, including Brighton's own official site, says 2025.

While we’re down in Brighton, why not make it a 2-for-1 and bring in Carl Rushworth at the same time?
Won Swansea’s supporters player and players player of the year in 23-24 after time with both Walsall and Lincoln prior to that - totally mismanaged by Hull last season.

Going back to Scotland on loan.
source? Or made up again?
My family in Perth, said Mitchell looked a way too good for St Johnstone last season. I would be amazed if he ends up back there

Brighton's keeper situation is bizarre , I'm surprised Rushworth hasn't left on a permanent yet as I don't see where he breaks through behind Verbruggen,Steele and Kjel Scherpen + the likes of James Beadle.
Would be an excellent loan signing but could equally see him going on a permanent for a significant fee.
I never really notice opposition players but there are 2 I was really impressed with this season.
The first was Offiah against Blackpool away. He was amazing.
The second was Galbraith in the Final. He hardly put a foot wrong and is definitely destined for the Championship.
Those saying signing Offiah would be a real sign of intent are going a little overboard in my opinion. He's the sort of signing a Championship team should be making. We need to remember we're up against teams who will be signing players for £15m this summer. Signing this guy would be great but this should be the norm for this summer.
Have to say it’s really refreshing, whether what we think the quality of the player is, to see a clear vision in the sort of player and attributes we want.
You can see that with Carey and you can see that with Offiah.
Instead of in recent years where previously we have just been bringing in a bunch of cobbled together randoms.
It's utter woke nonsense it what it is. "Playing on the half-turn" is another one that winds me up, people trying to sound like they know what they're talking about.
I love watching players from the double pivot on the half-turn inbetween the lines progressing the ball.

Agreed. When the 6 passes to the 8 whilst moving into the 4 onto the half 9 I get really excited.

Especially when they take the ball on the back foot

To me it would be a sign of intent in that we are trying to get players in to make us competitive in the Championship. We are not going to be spending £15m on anyone.
Agreed it should be the norm and I’ll be delighted if that turns out to be the case.

One player I’d like for us to sign this summer is Odeluga Offiah.
Was excellent for Blackpool this season, on loan from Brighton so the link is there for Jones too. He’s a London boy and played for Bromley academy before joining Brighton.
Fully expect Watson to be released and the profile of Offiah is the type I anticipate we are after. Strong, athletic, aggressive, good on the ball. He might not be a flying wing back, he’s more a Ramsay type, but he’d be a fantastic signing for anyone in the Championship. I think the Premier League is slightly one step too far right now but he’ll get there.
Online says he’s out of contract but I do not think that’s correct.
Happily point out I was the first to bring his name up on 30th May. Really hope this one happens 🤞🏻
Going to steal your thunder here and point out I actually brought it up on the 29th May when we were linked with the other Blackpool full back

Do you mean progressing through the thirds?
Amending a bit, and bits have been forgotten but... The apricot man could play a nutmeg pass off the sock because if you play the sockmaster, it's 3 points written blind. Recruitment need to look at the shoulder stats, and this'll tickle you Les, you have to go all the way back to West Ham for a diagonal counter-rabbit.

Need to be quick though as the transfer window slams shut tomorrow at 7pm
Your left winger’s terrified…

Whether they are genuine links, or his agent trying to get his name out there, who knows?

Am I now ITK?
