I think Powelly tends to assess whether or not he can get the most out of the player's character. BWP had (still has somehow) a reputation of being a lazy player with no sense of team-spirit, and Yann had a reputation of being a miserable, unfreindly clogger. In fact I remember Powell saying as much about Yann in an interview. I think Powell makes it clear to the player that their attitude has to improve and it seems to have worked so far. He's managed to keep a whole team happy, apart from poor old Hayesy, despite playing a consistent 11 almost all season. If anyone can get the most out of Fuller it's our managerPragueAddick said:
Yes please, Mr FlyingKiwi, can we have the link please?DamoNorthStand said:
Nevertheless, several people have this rumour, so let me ask everyone what I asked on the Fuller thread. Does this one look like a Chris Powell signing? Not sure it does to me: 33 in October, sometimes overweight, sometimes slaps his own captain, couldn't agree terms with Stoke....On his day a good striker. But on his day, Jimmy Floyd PiggyBank was a great striker...0 -
You really think he gives a flying kiwi about that?LargeAddick said:'couldn't agree terms with Stoke'
Anyway, Ricky has unfinished busines with us ......
I'd be happy with Hayes out/ Fuller in if the total cost to Charlton is unaffected, i.e. Fuller gets no more than Hayes (maybe adjusted for a pay as you play deal)

of course not Prague, twas a joke, just it's what Haynes, Green and Wilson have trotted out when they signed. If Hayes goes for a fee maybe Fuller is getting that as a signing on fee to compensate for drop in wages. Only summising though.PragueAddick said:

Can confirm that Hayes is at Brentford at this moment, so unless there are any last minute hitches it's bye, bye Paul, all the best for the future.0

OK sorry Large. I tend to get regular sense of humour failures regarding CAFC at the moment. I think your surmise is a reasonable one. But anyway it had better be the mother of all medicalsLargeAddick said:

Get some money on Brentford to go up and Hayes' striking partner to be top scorer.

Good luck to him, I know their midfielder Jake Reeves pretty well, and I think Hayes will fit in well there0

Good luck to him. Decent player that was unlucky not to have a good run our team. Should do well at Brentford.Essex_Al said:Just had a second text, he had his medical yesterday and is definately signing today.

Echo what others have said about Hayes. Unlucky not to get more of a chance but looks like it's worked for all concerned now.
Is there any real hope of us getting Baldock?0 -
right position, wrong name. Just my view!!Stu of Yangzhou said:So Hayes out, hopefully Baldcock in!

Has the Schlupp loan rumour definitely died?0
-
Really wish Clarke would leave, him taking wages actually makes me angry0
-
DNG, Fuller or someone from the PFA free transfers then0
-
Last i heard it was all set to be agreed but Leicester wanted a 24 hour call back option which effectively killed the deal.Melrose said:Has the Schlupp loan rumour definitely died?

Essex_Al, I've never before seen a forum where someone actually knows what's they're talking about to such a degree with regards to a player rumour. Thanks for the updates0
