Free agent = higher wages. 20k sounds higher than I would expect though.

£20k a week over a year - £1m for someone of his calibre - worth paying I say. If we had to pay a transfer fee of £1m and then the wages on top - it costs us more, pure and simple.

he must have been on a fair old whack at stoke well over 20k so cant imagine he would have dropped down to 10k

Darren Bent was on 20k pw basic when we were in the Prem (yes fact and I still have the spreadsheet with all the players wages to prove it)

No way is Fuller on that much. That is £1m per year. That is 50% of oor sky money.

6pm sounds very positive on the Charlton front. Heard rumours of Zaha to Swansea, hoping that will come back around

Don't doubt that someone has said that, but there is no way in a million years we turned down 2.5m for him.

So we should go out and sign a proven Premiership striker much loved by their fans for £600k and offer £8k a week - this would be cheaper, huh? ;-)

Why? Maybe Powell can see the undoubted potential that is there with Stephens and if we aren't short of cash why sell a potentially prized asset.

I read that as TJ held out for £2.5m and Villa refused to go that high and backed off

This is a transfer rumours thread Henry, there are plenty of other websites where you can discuss your addiction to phone sex lines.
