Has Bircham still got blue hair?

No, though it at least would be the right colour for both QPR AND Millwall

Sean Dyche isn't well liked at Millwall. Would have thought Burnley's squad has more potential than Millwall. Birch would be a crazy appointment, his punditry is as fluent as a bunged up sewage plant: God help any player coping with his cliche ridden drivel.

"In fact perhaps Chris Powell would like a shot at running Charlton's more interesting cousin? There would be more money to play with, a more passionate crowd to get behind him and a much better pitch for his players to perform on."

Another shit deluded column. The mánager will choose millwall not the other way around. He actually thinks they matter, still.

The arrogance and conceit of Millwall fans runs through that article in a way that would be unbelievable from any other club:

"The Den is not a forgiving place for the faint of heart...the tea ladies would eat him for breakfast, let alone Halfway Harry et al...An expensive haircut and snappy power-point presentation isn't good enough, Millwall fans will see straight through that in one press conference...he’d be well out of his depth at a proper football club in my opinion...Vanity is also a no no at Millwall...surviving the wrath of the Kitchener Stand wits...typical south London directness...something about Millwall and its old fashioned docker’s culture...‘no-one likes us, we don't care’...enough character not to be fazed by the crowd...Is he sexy enough though?...nowhere near tough enough for us..."

I don't deny that some of this is true, though of course they do like to stoke up the myth of how tough and working class they are, but it's the casual acceptance of this nonsense is the biggest problem that that grubby little outfit has. Because when all is said and done, the underlying theme of everything in that article is that it's going to be hard for them to find a decent manager because so many of their fans are utter cocks.

He is basically saying a decent manager won't be able to do a good job because they have c11t fans who are deluded beyond help. And they are proud of it. Pathetic.

Could be a bit difficult, as they are all dead.

Millwall couldn't afford to pay Lampards ironing bill never mind his salary. In any case they won't accept an ex Hammer.

He's been a super manager for Millwall and has been doing it on a shoestring, with very clever use of the loan market.

You can't cheat the odds forever and their fear ( a realistic one, I think ) is that they may now suffer a post-Curbs style hangover. The Championship has been more competitive year on year for some time now and the Lions need to continue to punch above their weight to stay in it.

Steve Lomas of St Johnstone (4th in the SPL which is virtually unheard of for them) was favourite last time I looked. A shame as he appears to be someone who knows what he's doing.
  • I've seen it all now. Millwall the club that keeps on giving.

On their forum they think they have a chance of getting Di Matteo!

The champions league winning manager ... to Millwall! Hahahaha

Alex McLeish has been listed as an applicant today, personally I can see it being someone like Aidy Boothroyd proven previously at this level with Watford ,unlucky to be punted at Coventry and whose recent success at Northampton seems to have passed under the radar of most people.

Double edged sword, if he went there and was successful, that would be our 2 most hated clubs he would bring success to while f'ing us up, but then again......................

See Trotter has gone to Blackburn on a free, the summer is just getting better.................;-)

No chance of Dowie being a success anywhere, and no chance of Millwall going for him unfortunately. Those Next Manager markets are ridiculous - the bookies have got no better idea than us of who's gonna be the next manager and they panic everytime someone puts more than a tenner on in case someone's got a genuine tip-off. If you put £20 on Terry Wogan to be the next Millwall manager he'd be odds-on with most bookies by the end of the day.

Trotter gone to Blackburn on a free? Chance would be a fine thing. I think you'll find that the majority of Millwall fans would drive him to Blackburn and not even charge him for petrol! I think you mean Chris Taylor. Wants to go back up north, and for what he's being paid, missing 20 games a season through injury isn't worth it. Good player, but no great shakes.

As for managers, there's some proper cobblers being sounded out. I'd like to see us try and get Uwe Rosler or Sean Dyche (whoever it was above who said Millwall fans hate SD is talking out of their arsehole!). Alex Mcleish was interviewed today apparently, but I reckon that broke down upon being told that his transfer budget for next season is about £6.99. As for the likes or Warnock, Di Matteo (?!?!), Marc Bircham. Do me a favour!

Unfortunately, it's looking bleak for us next season. Our Cheif Exec seems to think it's perfectly ok to wait until about a month from the start of the season to get someone in. We've been letting players go left, right, and center without a manager in place. Keeper and defence is ok. Could do with another left/center mid, and two strikers. Can't see anything but relegation for us, unless someone comes in and performs a minor miracle.

So, charge your glasses. It's the news you were all hoping for. We're in the shit. I'll be sending a truckload of Kleenex round to Charlton Life Towers for you to use how you see fit at news of our imminent demise. This of course will not affect the now customary 4 points we'll take off you next season.

    Thankyouplease.
