Great, just when it was starting to look like maybe everything wasn't the nightmare it first seemed.cockneyCAFC said:@SkySportsPeteO: Doubts surrounding the future of Chris Powell at Charlton starting to emerge. #CAFC

Would imagine CP and RD have come to a disagreement over Yann's sale3
-
Would Powell have done a full press day about the rest of the season and so on if there was any chance he would be axed?1
-
No evidence in that article, just speculation. Anyone on this forum could have written with as much substance.AppyAddick said:

Would not be surprised, Yann is a lot harder to replace than Wiggins/Stephens imo. Powell knows if Yann stays, we have a shot at survival.ValleyGary said:Would imagine CP and RD have come to a disagreement over Yann's sale

The suggestion that CP's job is under threat is hardly surprising, find the timing of this breaking news a bit odd though. What's happened this morning that's prompted the Sky journo and the Mail to both publish this information? It's not look Powell failed to show for this morning's Press Conference.0

Yup. It can be very cold out there - look at Curbs.Rizzo said:
You do seriously have to wonder how many of these incoming players are ones that have been chosen by Powell. I know that is often the way on the continent where a Director of Football decides who to bring in and the Coach works with what he is given but would SCP be willing to work under that sort of system?Valley11 said:

I also think the plans in general would have been discussed and targets identified. The loans were no brainers as we need reinforcements. The targets look good as well.
No one can predict who will come in for whom and at what price. Everyone is for sale at every club and a a manager you have to live with that.
Football managers are positive guys. CP is probably thinking that if he makes a go of it the future looks good. So do I.

This is turning out to be one of the craziest days in our history. God knows what the afternoon holds for us.1

A lazy journalist could easily piece togther a "news item" like that by crawling through the comments on CL0

CP: There's just under half a season to go. 60 points. Last season we had a strong second half and we have to do the same again #cafc

Wouldn't expect anything less from our man !

Would like to see some players coming in who know the league. It's good to have a base of players who know the league and have played in it before.2

It's a great day for my bro to be at the training ground !0

We've got 11 of those and its not working out too well. These lads might have no fear, and do the business. We'll see.CrayAddick said:Would like to see some players coming in who know the league. It's good to have a base of players who know the league and have played in it before.

I suspect its journalists putting two and two together and getting 4.5.
There's probably an element of truth in it, but not as bad as its being made out0 - Sponsored links:

It isn't. Do you really think this can continue long term with Powell in charge? Sadly I'd be amazed if he still here by the end of the season.Rothko said:I suspect its journalists putting two and two together and getting 4.5.

Still all of tomorrow to come as well, proper rollercoaster ride at the moment. The confirmed facts - who we've bought, who we've sold, who we've offered contracts to - is so far reasonably positive, I think we're probably better of today than we were this time yesterday. The rumours going round at the moment regarding SCP and Yann make the picture look a hell of a lot bleaker though.stop shouting said:This is turning out to be one of the craziest days in our history. two days ago the rumour was that Powell was signing a new deal today, its all very very shiftable0
-
that made me chuckle !!!Over the moon if Wiggy stays & signs a long term contract - not too bothered about losing Dale as long as he is replaced. He has a good shot on him but has only really picked up his game this season and then only when paired with Cousins.charente addick said:as we speak, across Kent, hundreds of torn up season tickets are being quickly sellotaped back together again.

I got a text last night saying yann had gone and was signed
Got a text just now saying he is here at sparrows
So is it saying goodbye or is it to rethink
Who knows but if we get the fella from nantes yann will not nesc be a first choice
Isn't it good to have choices and competition
I hope my faith in waiting and not worrying will be repaid
( The Diplomatic Corps would welcome you with open arms !)

Could well be that we are not selling Yann until we are confirmed to have someone else definitely coming in.
Alternatively, quite possible that Bournemouth offered Yann a longer deal but less money than he wanted or that there was more performance-based pay in what they were offering.
If that is the case then he might choose to stay till summer and go on a Bosman and pick up a signing on fee somewhere.1 -
Sit back realx and enjoy the rest of today and tomoz unless scp goes then I will enjoy the signings and miss the man
