Cisse is one of their highest regarded youngsters. He is their version of cousins1

As others have said the fact he isn't English is a bonus as far as I am concerned. Belgium are better than England. Our players have been technically poorer than the continent for years.2

Never too early to moan when you're a Charlton fan. : - )Scoham said:Here we go, first midfielder linked today.
Too early to moan that he's a DM and not a playmaker or winger?...1 -
Don't get that. Agree about the relative quality of the two countries overall but this about one particular player.DamoNorthStand said:As others have said the fact he isn't English is a bonus as far as I am concerned. It's his individual abilities that matter.
In the same way Cousins should be judged on his ability not on the basis that he is English.0 -
Just like we wait till it's on the OS lets wait till we see these guys play in a Charlton shirt.
A blank canvas and give them a bit of time.
I don't expect miracles on Saturday, we've got some real important home games coming up that are must win.2 -
If these signings could have been done last Friday/Monday then maybe the performance on Tuesday might not have been so flat.0

More excited than nervous about today. My biggest fear has already been realised, as YK has been my favourite player over the last 2.5 seasons and it is apparent that he is surplus at his current wage unfortunately. Solly's knees are playing up in a timely fashion for us fans and quite frankly Cousins will shortly deserve greater things unless we can challenge and get promoted in 16 months. So my focus is very much on the ins. One more striker, a creative midfielder and a winger that you switch flanks at ease would be great. How distracting will this site be today?0

Just a shame we didn't have this deal with standerd between 09-11
Dante
Mangala
Witsel
Fellaini
S Defour
They have had some great players hopefully we have a new Star in cisse or koc.

It's exciting. Really hope Polish Pete gets over the line. Suddenly we have lots of striking options!
My only concern is Jacko....no mention of a new contract. Really think he'll only be a player coach going forwards so we need to sign a leader. A new skip.2 - Sponsored links:

@SkySportsPeteO: Leyton Orient are set to sign Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Ben Alnwick on loan.
Or in other words, Powell has been told to play Thuram...0 -
That must be Hamer surely?0

Have to say i doubt this very much. Alnwick currently playing and playing well, Hamer still not 100%. Unless he wants to go.Valley McMoist said:

Yann having a medical at bournemouth this morning0

Yup... Just been announced on the Sky Transfer Tracker...
We are hearing Leyton Orient are set to sign Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Ben Alnwick on loan. Orient are in the market for a new keeper after Hull City recalled Eldin Jakupovic from his loan spell early.
Gonna be a bit of a long day - Surely we'll have a recall clause so we're not left with two Goalkeepers0 -
Playing devils advocate here.
What if Hamer has said he is off at the end of the year because the old boys club is being broken up.
Powell knows Thuram is the best keeper (he's seen them all training for a few weeks now) and only here for 6 months so loan out Alnwick to get some games and renew his contract if he continues to impress. Leave Hamer on the bench if he's not going to stay otherwise we are training up someone else's keeper for next year.
As I said, devils advocate but still a possibility.1 -
Fair analysis.Jdredsox said:Playing devils advocate here.

If he has a pre contract agreement with a foreign club he won't be. I'm not saying I'm right, just a different view.
My main focus is on Yann Watch today. That will decide if I join the doom and gloom crowd0 -
