First half we looked shorn of confidence. Harriot was woeful. Green worked hard. The change made and Obika made a huge difference.

Second half we pressed and the substitutions were positive. Church is game but just not a centre forward.

We gained in confidence but never thought we'd get the goal.

Poyet was class. Dervite was man of the match. Jackson's dead ball delivery is quality.

IF we get some more belief, we'll stay up for sure. We have some tough games to come now.

It ain't gonna be pretty but it might be effective.

Well, this bloke is certainly making an impression on me already.

Wasn't convinced with the starting line-up but sounds like he was very pro-active with his subs and we pushed on and got a deserved goal.

Also had £5 on us at 10/1 with 3 mins left :)

How good does it feel when we win. Gutted I had dad duties tonight so couldn't be there.
  • Backed the home win at 13/2 with 10 minutes to go. Was never in doubt!

The first home game I have missed all season and this happens! Typical. Still, glad we finally got a goal, hopefully that will break the dam and more are on the way (yes I mean you Mr Church.)

Win our games in hand and were only 16 points off the playoffs :)

Did Yann give a little fist pump when we scored?

    No, but ambrose probably did.

I wasn't there either but from how it was reported I think it was deliberately done - start defensive then crank up the pressure slowly rather than try and blitz from beginning to end. I could be overestimating him in my euphoria of course!

    We needed that

Crowd were great tonight, defence solid and Danny Green is still absolutely rubbish

But I haven't gone as bonkers for a goal for quite a while

    Love you Charlton

What a cracking result! Well done to JR, AD & all the players tonight. At long last we have some real hope of avoiding relegation. It's still going to be extremely tough & it will probably go to the wire, but we have a chance now.

But could CP have done it.

"And it got even better as Jackson and Ben Hamer jumped out of the players’ tunnel to celebrate with the fans – something former boss Chris Powell was renowned for doing after a good result."

Sounds like we are much more positive now even though it took a while for the goals goal to come and we are still defensively solid, table looks amazing with 3 games in hand over some teams in the zone as well.

  • Dervite and Poyet men of the match for me. Obika showed good strength and some nice touches. Wiggins back to his best too. All positive tonight COYR!

Who was marking Dervite for that corner? Wasn't Yann by any chance?

Bit more composure up front and we can win games. Would like to see Sordell and Obika start. - could be a real handful...

Injury time winner feels so good! When we messed up that goal mouth scramble in the 2nd half I thought we were heading for another nil nil result especially with that ref giving us nothing. Good start Mr. Riga but a real tough run starting again on Saturday. I have faith we'll make stay up this season.

Took a while! Are you for real?
  • though im still absolutely gutted about chris powell, this new guy is good technically. we have 3 games in hand to get 5 points to catch donny and bolton. 6 for blackpool who are in dreadful form. these last 3 games highlight our increedible defence which has to be credited to powell as well as some of the youngsters which were blooded by powell. surely other teams must be deflated by this win. surely barnsley and yeovil must think, how are we going to overtake 3 teams, millwall will be hopeful that we do not take advantage of our games in hand.
