We huffed and we puffed and never looked like scoring ( pretty similar to the QPR game ) and wallop we do it again !!
All our strikers looked awful but our two young central midfielders were magnificent again as was our defence .

If only we could score 92 minute winners ever week - I could get used to this habit !!

    COYR !!!
  • Poyet is a class apart - what a player.
  • Almost forgot what 3 points felt like. Get in there!
  • Huge win, especially as this saturday will be a very tough game.

Now that was some game. I was forced to follow the match thread for the final 40 mins as it's the afternoon over here in California. There's nothing better than surreptitiously following the match thread on the phone in the middle of a very tedious corporate meeting and Charlton scoring a 92nd minute winner. Priceless!!! Now, that does show the value of the match thread. Many thanks LL. :-)

Sounds like we are much more positive now even though it took a while for the goals goal to come and we are still defensively solid, table looks amazing with 3 games in hand over some teams in the zone as well.

Took a while! Are you for real?
    What's your game waldo?

You've been around over 4 years and can't tell I quoted someone, you're questioning people's passion asking if Chris Powell could have done better and asking Who José Riga is?!?!

Great result everyone played their heart out and our defence was so solid today Bournemouth barely got forward!!

Harriott was awful and I was so glad he got pulled off.

Green needs to be told it's not his ball and he can't take it home if we don't agree to let him take every throw in/corner/free kick.

    Church is never a striker.

Obika could turn out to be key this season.

Poyet showed class and I understand it's important to keep the ball but I feel sometimes he is a tad too conservative. Just a tad...

Dervite was my MOM before he scored.

Jackson was so eager, they all were really. It was good to see.

Wilson is getting my player of the season I think.

Opposite of the Hudds game, poor first half then finished strongly. A draw would have been a fair result but we've had bugger-all luck this season so well done JR, Dyer and the team for keeping going. Obika came on and added the physical presence we've lacked since a certain French striker left, though a bit wasted out on the left, making him look clumsy. I thought Sordell played really well, coming in off the right wing. Defence solid as usual and Wiggins' best game for ages. Green went from sublime to ridiculous throughout but overall it was one of his better games. Well done Jose on the positive subs. We still didn't look much like scoring from open play so we're far from out of the woods but I'm enjoying being out of the bottom 3 and look forward to Obika starting in a central role next game. coyr!
  • Massive, massive result.

We still need one more option up front though, we have to find someone who can chip in with some goals.

Obika is a good addition but another loan forward would be very welcome.

Some tough games coming up but if we can get Solly & Cort back - which would release Wilson into midfield - then we would really improve our chances.

We can have a right good crack at Burnley now.

  • Loved it.

First twenty minutes had me worried. Don't think we got in their half. Jackson isn't involved enough playing off the striker. It also negates the room Poyet and Cousins have to work in.

Otherwise I think we deserved at least a point and it's fantastic to get all three.

Credit to Poyet, Jackson and Cousins. Back four looked solid and Obika gives us something different.

Riga showed some real tactical nous when bringing Sordell on the right and pushing Obika. Was 443 with pace and it really put the pressure on them.

Even better when you have 1-0 Dervite first goal scorer at 90/1

Green 3 - worst free kick I've ever seen

Sordell 4 - like a walking advert for Persil. The bloke just isn't interested in getting into positions where he might get hurt.

Thankfully I wasn't there, but going by the commentary this seems harsh.
  • Dervite and Poyet men of the match for me. Obika showed good strength and some nice touches. Wiggins back to his best too. All positive tonight COYR!

Good seeing you James, can you come every week now! It's Joe.

No better feeling than a last minute winner! Haven't celebrated like that for a while!

I though Wilson was absolutely class tonight, he'll be getting my player of the season vote for sure!

Riga is making a big impression on me, I was gutted when CP left but no one can deny Riga is doing the business.

Jackson, Poyet and Dervite all fantastic! Green was good first half and awful second. Harriott was shocking.

Obika and Sordell both looked likely I thought, liked what i saw!

We're trying to play football which is good however sometimes I feel we've gone from one extreme to the other, so much tippy tappy around the box but no real end product! Still can't complain, 3 points, out of the relegation zone and we've dunked millwall in it in the process! Brilliant!

P.S Yann and Powell who?!! Haha.

No wonder we won if Riga got away with playing 4-4-3, I hope we can play that against Burnley!

Loved JJ and Hamer running out of the tunnel in the style of Chris Powell after the game...

Sordell was excellent when he came on. Up front rather than out wide alongside Obika on Saturday please.
  • Great result. If that goal had gone in earlier I reckon the result would've been even more comfortable-the players looked well up for it.

Looking forward to Burnley, who will presumably come and attack and not just flood the midfield and try to nick a goal.

    Poyet won't be here long.

listening on player thinking 'ffs, yet another nil-nil' and then sudden screams of delight from the commentary- a charlton goal! can't make out who's scored for a second until the delirium dies down a bit...it's dervite! good ol' dorian! feeling happier tonight:-)

Harsh on Sordell. He had a decent enough game. On fone so more later but thought Jose got it spot on tonight.
