Wow. That looks a bit weird. Why use that bloody horrible block lettering instead of the UoG logo?
Still, not as bad as the Cabrini/Joma monstrosity of a few years back.

Wasn't overly keen on the current one but this is much worse!

Don't like the v at all, way too much white and red shorts, really?? Nasty!

Still like my llanera one (except the letters are all peeling off).

Shirt- far too much white= shit

Shorts- far too much red = shit

    Socks- fucking hoops = shit

As I don't buy replica kits, I won't lose any sleep over this.......................

Incidentally the bog standard logo will be in order to maximise standout on TV. Making the font as simple and legible as possible.

It's just that a lot of rugby league clubs use that V-shape design. St Helens have used it for years,

See plenty of room for a few more sponsors. ;-)

It's a brave new world. I like it. A lot. Its got a slight touch of a rugby league look about it but hey, no one moans about Oasis ripping off the Beatles.

Apart from being a really shit analogy, loads of people on here moan about Oasis ripping off the Beatles... LOL
Yep, I have to admit that was shit. I compared Charlton to Oasis..... *Hangs head in shame*

I quite like it. We play in red and white and this kit is red and white. Ok there is more white on the shirt than normal but the shorts are red. I'd prefer them white but it's not that a big deal. If the new kit were say blue then we'd have a problem but this is different and the right colours. If only we could still get replica shirts in 'big fat git' size ...

My first impression is that it looks awful but I might get used to it after a while. The shirt has too much white on it and the shorts should be white. Hopefully the away kit will look better?!

....... but I have no idea why they've decided to change the shorts to red.

So the Mitsubishi logo stands out?

It's in a white box though, so if anything would look better on white shorts.

Most of us think there's too much white, but how about this old home kit? Couldn't find a colour one, but you get the idea.

Loved this kit and I'd like to see a modern version. Very distinctive!

But we don't play in "red and white" we play in red shirts and white shorts. People reproducing pictures of one kit that was used for two years (and then dumped) fifty years ago as some kind of proof of "heritage" is akin to saying we are a trophy laden club because we won the cup in '47... :-D

Lot's of teams change the design but stick to the club colours. Why do we have to have a red shirt and white shorts Algarveaddick? Southampton dumped their stripes, the fans didn't complain, Liverpool changed to all red, Leeds went all white, even the scum change to stripes, blue shirts, all white and now dark blue, I never heard them moan. Lot's of teams change their design regularly, why shouldn't we?

Charlton play in red shirts and white shorts. That's the end of it. Anything else is an abomination.

Southampton fans did complain but a bit of success on the pitch and no one cares anymore.

WHAT? You are entitled to your opinion DFT, but making stuff up does nothing to further your cause...
  • I ordered one of these shirts yesterday and it arrived today. It doesn't look too white when you see it up close but there's no doubt that the sleeves are white. It is well made though, something that we forget about when we complain about how Nike don't make us a unique kit. We've had some real crap quality shirts in the past from some real mickey mouse manufacturers.

However, I remember, a few years ago, Arsenal having a shirt that had white stripes on the sleeves that were mostly red and many Arsenal fans, that are friends of mine, said that they though it looked like a Charlton shirt. Apparently that was a common thought in their fan base, which goes to show that it happens to all clubs, from time to time.

Oh - well that's put my mind at rest - glad we got it sorted, everything's okay again ... ;-)

I would prefer the arrow on the shirt to be pointing upwards rather than downwards (in the direction that the team is hopefully travelling).
