Sheffield Wednesday are being linked with two players at different French clubs. Saint-Etienne's 34-year-old striker Brandao, who has one year remaining on his contract with Les Verts, is said to have visited the Championship club to see their facilities but is holding out for a better wage offer. Meanwhile, Istres midfielder Florian Tardieu, 22, is reportedly set to sign for the Owls.

Are Saint Etienne part of the network? If so why are Sheffield trying to get in on the action. They've always been jealous of us.

Back to rumours Bastia are looking to resign a goalkeeper by the name of Nicolas Penneteau who was started with them as a youngster.

Why is this relevant ? Because Logan Bailly was on trial there . Could this mean he could be coming to us after all?

Nicolas Penneteau, who said he was "concerned" by a return to Bastia to take over from retired Mickaël Landreau , should continue his career with Sporting. The keeper of 33 years, who has spent eight seasons at Valenciennes, is currently training with the Bastia Group to maintain its shape. It could officially join the team this weekend.

That, or we seriously dodged a bullet by not signing Bailly first time around. If he hasn't managed to impress at two clubs both actively searching for a keeper there must be a reason... Or he's coming back here in which case he is OF COURSE the bestest kept secret in goal keeping ever.
