Indeed. Especially if by "personality" we mean "stupidity".Huskaris said:Completely agree with those that say if he didn't have such a ridiculous personality he would be nowhere near as big as he is now.
Who else do you know lets fireworks off in a bathroom?

Forget the off the field stuff, bottom line is that Balotelli is wasting his last chance at a big club, his attitude at times is mystifying.
You can see Rogers is losing patience with him - next stop Spurs or Wet Spam.0 -
Indolent and greedy, he looks totally bored & pissed off, but not so much as his 'teammates' look pissed off with him .. his days at Liverpool are numbered .. I'll now await him scoring 20 goals in the next 15 games0

It's almost as if different players have different styles, interesting you omitted Ibrahimovic from your examples.Addick Addict said:

Tbf that asist did win the league.iaitch said:He seems a very selfish player, few times yesterday when Liverpool had men over in attack but he chose to have a shot every time, ok now and again he'll get a wonder goal but mostly not.
Think the commentator yesterday said than in all his time in the Premier League he only had one assist.
All these saying he is lazy. I've said before but it's just his style of play. But this being England you are only considered to be trying if you run around a lot, stick a boot in and show a bit of passion.
So, if he's not scored any goals and has been given absolution from working for the benefit of the team, what exactly has he done to earn that million or so quid he has pocketed so far this season?
Also we shouldn't be too quick to judge, he's had what? 7 games or so? He hasn't been playing well but players like him always come in for criticism such as being called lazy or not giving a shit simply because of his style of play.1 -
You're right, it is early, but the signs are not good, the body language of Balotelli and team mates is very bad.colthe3rd said:

Against QPR he had three great chances and never looked like he really believed he'd score any of them.0 -
We will see. The debate re Ibrhimovic/Balotelli/Cantona/Sherringham is a different one.colthe3rd said:

Especially at the highest level now i.e. has the game moved on where the front two/three/four have to be inter-changeable and able to play through the middle/down the channels and wide?

Both fair points OA and AA. I just think he has the talent, it is clearly a mental thing with him. Get him in the right mind I think he could be one of the best strikers on the planet. Weirdly the only manager who has come closest to achieving it was Mancini. I guess there comes a time when everyone says he is a lost cause.0

The difference between the likes of Ibrahimovich and Balotelli is that even though Ibrahimovic may have spent 80-90% of the game doing sod all, there was always a good chance that he would suddenly produce a moment of inspirational genius that made up for it. Balotelli spends just as much time loafing around the pitch, gets into a good position... and shanks the ball hopelessly wide.Addick Addict said:

Taken off at half time after showing very little. Apart from a lack of desire to close down and win the ball for two of the Madrid goals that is.0

Souness, Carragher and J Redknapp are ripping him apart on Sky currently.0
