I did not realise a season ticket gets you into the away games.Addickted said:No matter how much I want this regime gone, the nearer to the start of the season, the more I'm wavering.
Like an addict returning to his dealer, fairly sure I'll renew before the season starts. I can't believe how much I'm looking forward to visiting Gigg Lane again.
Don't buckle you wuss.1 -
Bought my sons last week, north lower, it's his 21st this month, probably end up sharing it as he works away a fair bit.0

Don't like the regime but don't feel bad about buying a season ticket at all - can't be hassled with pay on dat1

Wouldn't the club have to actually build more ticket windows if they wanted to put more ticket window staff on duty ?RedChaser said:

I've been inconvenienced enough by the shite football offering without that hassle0

Depends if all the windows are manned, if not building more will result in even more cost to the Douchbag. Oh happy days.letthegoodtimesroll said:

To those of us in the tech savvy, convenience first camp on this site both of those two options you suggest are a hassle. Next you'll be telling us you still write cheques...shine166 said:DOUCHER said:I've been inconvenienced enough by the shite football offering without that hassle
Hassle of what ? Standing in a queue for 10 mins or purchasing a ticket online from the comfort of you home ?0 -
You could not be further from the truth my friend!Davo55 said:Seems to me that those on here who just love spouting about having bought season tickets are in truth feeling a bit guilty about doing so. All the "it's my club" bollocks and encouraging others to buy STs too (because they know they are in an uncomfortable minority) is just covering up their embarrassment. Buying an ST while this shit regime is in charge is just wrong. You know it. I know it.

Not the worst regime?letthegoodtimesroll said:I bought a season ticket because this ain't the worse regime or first time we've been relegated in all the time I've been supporting charlton. If we'd abandoned the club before then it's likely there wouldn't be a club now. I post on here to encourage others to do likewise to counter those that post on here trying to make undecided fans feel guilty if they are thinking about buying a ST. All this bolocks about the principle of not giving the regime a penny is very commendable but realistically if anybody is posting on here still they are more than likely to still support the team and will want to go to the matches as often as they can. Why should fans miss out on the opportunity to save money by buying a season ticket because of another persons principles ?
I'm struggling with that. The regime that took us to Selhurst was pretty bad and made a huge error but at least there was the slight compensation that they gave us the most successful team we had seen in 30 years. The regime before this one caused damage but again they started off by appointing a reasonable manager and gave him enough funds to run away with promotion in his first year and finish 9th in the Championship in his second year. It fell apart when their money man withdrew but we had a couple of years of success. Mark Hulyer nearly did for us but as ridiculous as he was, his heart was in the right place and we got to see Allan Simonsen for a while. Hulyer also appointed Lennie Lawrence as manager.
Probably the nearest comparison would be with Michael Gliksten who was seemed to be happy with lower Division two ( Championship ) stasis with occasional bright spots, 68/69 and the Powell, Hales and Flanaghan era to go along with the occasional inevitable relegations.
This regime is insidiously different though. We are owned by someone who considers himself not only to be a shrewd businessman but a visionary genius who can do what no other man can. It is like having David Icke in charge. He is the richest owner we have had but within two years he has brought us relegation and made us a laughing stock with his managerial appointments. He gets rid of Michael Morrison but spends Charlton's money on Nobby Sarr. Yann is replaced with George Tucudean and Polish Pete. He has appointed a ridiculous, lying and insulting piece of fluff as the CEO and continues to support her.
There are some on here who have opined that the appointment of Russell Slade and the purchase of a few English players signals a real change of heart by our owner. It is much more likely to be a short term sop to mollify the more gullible of our supporters. It seems that when it came to putting pen to paper, Chris Wilde saw through him. He has owned various clubs for a number of years now and having talked to the supporters of one of those clubs there is no doubt that they feel he is wrecking their club and he is intensely disliked. Even if we were to be promoted this year, a big "if", it is likely that any future Championship team would be stuffed to the gills with Lepoints and Rezas.
Oh and I am not buying a season ticket.54 -
Crumbs, I'd forgotten how good those times were when there was just 3,000 of us in a totally decrepid 66,000 (official) capacity stadium, or when we nearly ceased to exist, or when we spent those years in the wilderness of selhurst and Upton parks, or where the club seemed to be being run down and even the pitch resembled a potato patch. Salt of the earth owners and I didn't even realise it.Mametz said:

I see Chexit trending on twitter this morning and thought @killerandflash had gone viral.killerandflash said:I'm still torn, it's as bad as choosing which side to vote for in the EU referendum!
Remain or Chexit?
Turns out its about the South China Sea dispute. Not sure we can blame Roland for that one.

you can't compare though with eras and approaches from 30 / 40 / 50 years ago. So many differing factors that need to be taken into consideration. That's like comparing a mobile phones capabilities now with 20 years ago. its still a mobile phone, but you can't make the comparison.3

I don't think I agree with that mate
If the hardcore had given up instead of going to Selhurst we wouldn't have a club
I'm genuinely torn between hating the regime and boycotting and not wanting to give up something I love, either way it's their fault.10 -

When we went to Selhurst i'd already bought my season ticket.
Then we got promoted which was a novelty in itself.1 -
What are you talking about ?, will the season ticket not be purchased online ? Because I would guess that purchasing by post is even more hassle.letthegoodtimesroll said:

If you look at my post I didn't come near to saying any of those regimes were the salt of the earth and I made the point that they were all pretty dire. This time is different though, the nature of the club is being intentionally changed on the whim of someone who wants to prove a point and is, at best, oblivious to or, at worst, couldn't care about the damage he is doing. Other regimes may have been incompetent but this one is nasty and incompetent.letthegoodtimesroll said:

Oh and I am not buying a season ticket.
As other people have said it is difficult to compare one era with another. It is worth remembering however than when we were at Selhurst Park, attendances were very low at most clubs with half a dozen clubs in the top flight regularly getting under 10,000 crowds.8 -
The season ticket is a one-off purchase. You don't have to do it more than once in a seasonshine166 said:

Judging by the number on here who are anti - RD but are still renewing their season tickets, the size of post match, pre match, protests ought to be huge !! I have not waivered from my initial decision to forego my season ticket until the current regime leaves/sells.3
