Probably because that announcement is imminent - it has been since the bloke was seen at the Chesterfield game.roseandcrown said:how can they think saying there will be no further statement until a new manager is acceptable.

I've also got a ticket for Millwall and for the first time I'm wondering if it's worth it ...although I'm sure I'll go anyway.Southendaddick said:Anyone want a Millwall ticket?
What an utter utter shambles we are
Another day of having the piss taken tomorrow...0 -
No further comment until a new manager has been appointed.
Here's one.
Just sell the club.1 -
An apology to Russel Slade. As a Charlton supporter- sorry to you for getting involved in this excuse for a football club.2
-
Bye Bye Mr Slade, no doubt a nice bloke but a negative football manager in my opinion with no plan B, not his fault for the mess the Belgians have placed us in but how can a pair of prolific scorers last season be so clueless with an Addicks shirt on, I know the midfield is slow and crab like but it is set up to play "Slades" way.0

If it wasn't so sad it would be hilarious. Just where will it all end? How can we as a club be taken seriously any more? Who in their right mind would take a job - even as a bloody ball boy - under this lot?!0

Bunker mentality now.roseandcrown said:how can they think saying there will be no further statement until a new manager is acceptable.

"The club would like to thank Russell for his tireless work during his time at The Valley, particularly the processes and disciplines he has instilled at the training ground"
Basically, thanks for buying the nice table-cloths.4 - Sponsored links:

Precisely, he knew what he was taking on and had no doubt that, ultimately, he had a payout no matter what. He couldn't lose, it's our club that suffers.ricky_otto said:

Is a true sign that they have learnt from mistakes.
Well the only mistake they have learnt. They are absolutely awful at club website official Statements, and should keep the amount they produce, to the absolute bare minimum.
They are great for us because it's something to laugh at.
Completely unheard of in football.
A true definition of "unprofessional".
Well done Roland. What a great CEO you have.1 -
must be the only job in football where the new bloke will hope he won't be manager of the monthForeverAddickted said:So who is in charge on Saturday then?

Fraeye MK2 written all over it.WhenIwasLittleBoy said:O'Loughlin will be the same as Fraye. He has no experience of football in this country and has only coached in the lower leagues of Belguim.

And it took them c10 hours to come up with that complete non statement. Russel's crowning achievement "the processes and disciplines he has instilled at the training ground" - talk about being dammed by faint praise - what did he do - break up the card schools and smoking behind the sheds?4

I'd prefer for their sakes that it doesn't happen. They'd just be the next ones to carry the can for the old git.Lazy_eye_metaphor said:

Speaking in my capacity as someone who has eaten all the pies... the chips, the pasta bake, the sausage rolls, and, in a fit of desperation once, a bit of the salad....0 -
Laughing stock of the football league. Pathetic that the CEO is still here. Is she really going host another press conference all excited about another new manager? Squirrel / Rat out.1

I think that would be the only appointment that would keep me goingjdsd42 said:Jonnie Jackson player / coach

And this is why the only way is down with this shower.MuttleyCAFC said:What we know is that an angry Roland is unpredictable. We have to get him angry and he might just chuck it in. To those who have gone to Belgium, I salute you.
I want to make another important point. Meire suddenly seemed to identify the mistake that caused relegation after last season. It was simply because they didn't appoint a British manager. Well, this shows how stupid they are. What we have said is that we needed a manager who knew the English game, he didn't have to be English and he didn't have to be anybody. Common sense might have suggested that a manager who has never achieved a promotion might not be the best appointment.
Had they listened to fans which god forbid would be a miracle, they would have heard us identifying the unbalanced squad as the issue. We had some decent players last year, but look at the team we put out at home to Prestion. A guaranteed defeat and that happened many times after. Fareye was a disaster, but just an example that they haven't got a clue.
If they want to appoint a manager who might give them a chance of promotion, surely they ought to look at managers who have actually achieved a promotion!
They were telling us all they cracked it in the summer and we were saying, fix the midfield for god's sake!!!! They weren't desperate enough because they don't have the understanding. We were pointing out their mistake, but they decided it was something else!0 -

That the club was incredibly, incredibly far from "normal" before Slade came in and he basically, after a few days on the job probably said WTF this is a complete joke.
