#TaxiForRoland: CARD launches three-day birthday trip to Belgium (Nov 2016)

I find it amazing that the "man" has spent so much on a football club and has no inclination or desire to engage in its activity. Lunacy.2
-
Sure he does which is why he should sell the club.0

She'll spin it the same way she always doesMuttleyCAFC said:Wow - Roland has told Talksport he has other things to care for!!!!! How is Meire going to spin that one? We know he has lied about the live fees and we have it from the horse's mouth that he doesn't care!!!!!!!!!
Lost in Translation0 -

Many posts on congratulations on the STVV forum..including this one...
"Haha, that youtube video is superb. Lol
Nice to read today HBVL. The men score the front page + 2 and 3: toppie:
So must.
Maybe we can quickly associate a yellow-blue trailer on their taxi"2 -
I will be applauding them from my office in Southwark. They are heroes and deserve free Bovril for life.7

Another comment from STVV forum....
"You guys rock.
Compared to you, we are a bunch of w*nkers."21 -
More STVV comments (i'll stop in a minute !) ...
"
In that regard trailer: Yes, go a little play the opportunistic parasite, too cowardly to do something, but if another gets the headlines it would also benefit ... We are still worth a wheelbarrow. "

I wonder how Roland would react if St Truiden fans stopped a game by throwing pigs on the pitch. Might make him realise he has to sell quick to avoid contagion of his other interests.14

wonder how people would feel if the protest fund funded that?MuttleyCAFC said:I wonder how Roland would react if St Truiden fans stopped a game by throwing pigs on the pitch. Might make him realise he has to sell quick to avoid contagion of his other interests.

Why does it need funding from the protest fund? - Belgians have money. CARD have the contacts and can suggest and help in that sense.3
-
I don't disagree, I was just putting it out there. We are organised, we are up and running, we have the upper hand at the moment and need to put the pressure on now.MuttleyCAFC said:Why does it need funding from the protest fund? - Belgians have money. Be careful what you wish for - remember the Two Ronnies:swords_alive said:
Or demand a female replacement for Slade. Nothing to lose, everything to gain.MuttleyCAFC said:Why don't we request that Meire's replacement is a woman? We know there are many women far better qualified than her to do the job. The coward seems to have quoted the bullsh*t fed to him by the incompetent Meire!!!!!

On the way back now.
My role this weekend was to turn up, travel round Belgium, and engage with the public/hand out leaflets. I have been blown away by the planning and behind the scenes work that has gone on to ensure the trip run smoothly. i don't think the people at CARD get nearly enough credit for the enormous effort that is put in before these events to make sure they happen. I simply had no idea before this trip. Truely awesome.66 -

Taxi for Roland back in the U.K. And homeward bound. Still love The Valley even if a lunatic owns it! Should be back around 4pm.15

Too early.. I was hoping you were going to be late so I could be there to cheer you back in!
Looking forward to you all sharing some of the stories on here so we can hear all about it, once you've had a sleep of course.
Well done all of you.

Saw a Black Pete parade in Amsterdam once. It is very strange.InspectorSands said:

Looks it; I think that's a Dutch christmas tradition though - and not a protestor demonstrating an innovative new way of getting our "Black and White" theme across..BartleyPark said:0 -
This has received fantastic media coverage here, Belgium and further afield. Congratulatios and thanks to all involved.1

Netherlands, 6-8 Black Men. Very funny. I'm a fan of David Sedaris and this thread made me remember this writing from a while ago.

Dont include me in that last sentence, or I'll send my butler round to bash you on the nose.Missed It said:Weegie Addick said:Another comment from RD within the article:
"It is not up to them (supporters/protesters) to decide who takes over the club – I will take that decision myself at the appropriate time."
A glimmer or am I reading too much into it?
Hopefully he is proper browned off with Charlton and how it is blowing back into his real life in Belgium and costing him a fortune too. The cracks are starting to show. I reckon he wants to sell but his natural born stubbornness and the unrealistic price he has in mind is stopping him from getting it done quickly and painlessly.
Rich people hate being told what to do by poor people.

One of the best, if not the best, 96 hours, in the relatively short life of this protest campaign. The media coverage has put us back once again in the spotlight. The taxi "adventure" was pure genius, particularly coinciding with RDs birthday celebrations; the supporting actions of the Belgium20; Talksport support for our cause on air; The FA summoning of KM; the sacking of Slade. All in 96 hours.
I support one and all of you that participated, planned or just supported. I have my mojo back to support further protests whenever I can; this after inwardly questioning my previous stance on this matter and whether our quest would ever succeed.
Thanks33 -
I love the impromptu cardboard sign in the front window of the cab:InspectorSands said:this looks like local TV in Ypres

Persuaded the marvellous cardinal Sin to drop me off on the way back.
Hence earlier than anticipated.
Judging by 16 pages on here may I say to all posters that the karma of knowing about all this support humbles me.
Thank you so much.21
