Eggs - runny, from a mould
    Mushrooms, button
    Bacon, streaky done crispy
    Pineapple chunks, charred
    Onions, sliced
    Toast(ed) muffins, heavily buttered

    I'm sorry, but pineapple chunks??

The Dale Winton of fry ups.
No said "you could have a pudding" ;)

    Cumberland chipolatas
Green streaky bacon (can't be doing with smoked)
    Black pudding
    White pudding
    Lorne sausage
    Bubble and squeak
    Fried or poached eggs
Mushrooms fried in butter ideally with garlic
    Toast
    Sometimes fried slice

Probably wouldn't have all of the above for one breakfast.

Reading this thread from my hospital bed yesterday whetted the appetite and when they come round with the breakfast menu I was delighted to see under the cereals and pastries 'cooked English breakfast'.

Though to myself one the benefits of private hospitals is getting a bit of 4 star tucker.

Imagine my outrage when I got woke up to this this morning. Soon as I get out of here I'm straight on Trip Advisor

Cocos in Eltham is our new cafe of choice. They use only quality sausages and bacon.

Cooked English Breakfast? Where's the rest of it or had you eaten most of it before you thought to take the photo?

Fried eggs with a side of scrambled eggs? Is that somebody's idea of a sick joke?

2 sausage, 2 egg, 3 bacon, 2 hash brown, chips, mushrooms, tinned tomatoes, crusty bread, black coffee
  • 2 Eggs, 2 Bacon, Sausage, Tinned Tomatoes, 2x Fried Bread.
    Mushrooms optional.
If home-made bubble and squeak is available I'd ditch the fried bread and add baked beans.
  • Sausages, bacon, fried eggs, fried bread, tinned tomatoes, mushrooms and beans.
If I feel all continental I'd add hash browns and bubble

In terms of a local greasy spoon, the Manor Cafe in Lee takes some beating.
A veritable goldmine, and I have never known it not to be there, and I have never seen it empty.
  • 2k have read this thread. I'll predict 98% had a fry-up today. I did. (:
  • Fan of the build your own Fry Ups, double up on the meat and ditch the tomatoes. Must haves are Sausage, Bacon, Fried Eggs, Black Pudding and either Hash Brown/Fried Bread.

If on your holidays in Bangkok then check our these for a good Fry Up - The Black Swan (Sukhumvit 19), The Queen Vic (Sukhumvit Soi 21), Molly Malones (Soi Convent) and The Drunken Leprechaun (Sukhumvit 15).

Where the whites of one of those eggs has run it looks like it's crying. Must be the Andy Delort breakfast face.

    Got to be ...

Fried slice with Heinz baked baked beans
2 rashers of grilled, smoked, back bacon
Grilled Dennis of Bexley pork sausage
    Grilled tomatoes
    Two friend eggs, over easy
Macleod and McLeod Stornaway black pudding
2 slices of crusty bloomer bread and butter
    Mug of tea
  • Sounds great. Where do you get the friend eggs from?
  • Also, beans need to be cooked for ages, always prefer them when they are like that.

Agreed. I put a knob of butter and some black pepper in mine. Lovely.

You're Scottish. The only tinned breakfast item they know about is Special Brew.

I feel that's a meal in itself, really.
