How late are people planning to stay up tonight?

Anyone usually watch the whole thing unfold?

Very late - at least 4.00am I would think.

No meetings planned for tomorrow morning!!

Remember last time the exit poll only said 'Tory largest party' it didn't predict a majority

There's some real desperation here. Laughable.
What's laughable is the fact in the last two months no one has posted a single defensible reason to vote Tory unless you are a millionaire.

You have also ignored all the really desperate posts calling Corbyn a disaster or similar. Take off the right wing goggles for once.
I think some of the silent majority decided there was no point debating with hysteria.
Only one side of the debate has been hysterical.

At least we know where the money for Conservative campaigning has really gone!

normally up until about 3am and once I know my side has won I can go to bed and sleep soundly

Pretty shit being a CAFC fan, you must almost never sleep on match days.

Just voted. For the first time in my life, having voted in every single local, European and general election since 1974, I have not voted Labour. I have just voted for a party led by a religious freak! If someone said to me 10 years ago that those two things would come to pass I would have replied there is as much chance that happening as Charlton winning the Champion's league!

You're voting LibDem and I'm voting Labour.

Exit polls won't be 100% accurate. I spoke to a friend of my mum's who was wearing a Tory rosette and was surprised that he was there. He asked to see my number and I just chatted to him. Afterwards, I went in and voted Labour then came out and chatted to him again. It wasn't until I came home that I realised he put my name down on the Tory side of the exit poll. Never asked me how I will vote but just took it for granted.

Therefore landslide Labour win 489 seats

Bury North? Lightweight! That's due around 2.30am

My constituency is due at 4.30am so will pace my alcohol consumption so that I'm just about at the point of screaming at the TV by then.

I usually try to stay up and watch it unfold woth my old man. He's in the middle of Chemo so I doubt he will be up for it this time round. Not sure I've got the commitment to do it on my own. Probably won't last much beyond 2am.

The whole Tory campaign has been based on attacking Corbyn, very little about their own policies, fine Corbyn isn't perfect but cutting the police force, NHS and increasing food banks isn't on his agenda. Don't even start on Theresa May couldn't be bothered to turn up to debates, a scared women clearly out of her depth.

I will stay up for Sunderland South and then go to bed.

I have a boozy night planned tonight and tomorrow night, and I need my sleep to ensure I'm up for the Lions game on Saturday morning.

Tell you what I would rather it is clear cut either way. I am bloody knackered at the moment and want to go to bed and not stay up waiting to see where it goes.

I think it will be borderline Tory majority / Hung Parliament. Like NYA said, last time the exit poll predicted Tory largest party and they ended up heading to a majority. So the only way it will be clear cut for me is if the exit poll has them with at least a 20 seat majority.

Other than that and its up in the air.

Good god. I don't think it's as cut and dry as that.

  • My mum's just informed me her and my dad have just got back from voting for the Tories as usual. They're both too far gone to have a reasonable discussion about politics with tbh but when I asked them for one example of something positive their party of choice has achieved in the last 7 years my old dear replied, "well they let us buy our council house."

    That was in 1983 ffs!

To rub it in my dad comes on the phone and starts complaining about the length of time he's having to wait until his next Parkinsons check up and, "it never used to be like that..."

Don't forget she was the one that called the election., don't think they have done anything to increase they vote other than slag the others off. Strong & Stable my arse.

People actually stay up to watch the results?!?

I get that people are interested in the full time score.....but the 90 mins is hardly spectator worthy surely.

I reckon I'll be able to hold out until the morning.

all very cute that the corbyn love in is all over social media, but his plans finances cannot be backed up, hiking up minimum wage to appeal to the masses is great - but wont work, his stances on terrorism i personally find quite insulting, him coupled with the mayor of london's comments this week is a complete piss take and shows what a joke this country has become, free uni fees are great but being employed by the construction industry its an area where foreign labour is probably the most employable. ive done my qaulifications now and am office based but the youth coming through and wanting to get into wont stand a chance.

Incidentally I was just at a meeting where I had someone working for the Telegraph on one side of me, and someone working for The Guardian on the other side. I must say that it would be fascinating to work at a big newspaper of either persuasion today. They have stuff coming through all the time (not that someone working in the commercial team would get the goss).

Funniest thing was that the Telegraph guy was staunch Labour, and my Guardian contact is a Tory. You couldnt make it up....

(nb both predicted a Tory landslide if that holds any value at all, which it probably doesn't)

Nonsense - of course it's spectator worthy. This is amongst my favourite television moments in my lifetime.
