Some outrageous statements in that piece. Almost as if Robinson has had a quiet chat with the journo...NornIrishAddick said:
Apparently, KR would have no shortage of offers and has done a good job with us....The Red Robin said:

possibly. But Kewell has done a good job at Crawley, has got the best out of KAG, knows the English game and the lower leagues and, importantly, been a winner in his playing career. Wouldn't be a bad appointment imo.hermann said:Potentially another regime where considerations outside of what's best for the first XI take precedent? Kewell is no Fraeye, but why would getting an Aussie manager in be top priority? Brings to mind the stuff mentioned early on with these guys about wanting to build a hub for young Australian talent - I'm instantly suspicious of any aims other than sustainable footballing success after the past four years.
Quite possibly just overthinking it...
If Kewell did come in this week then I think it will be nailed on that the Aussie consortium wouldn't be far behind him.

Have the last few years been entirely orchestrated by KAG as his way into the Charlton first XI?
Well played young man.21 -
Knowing our luck the Aussies will bring in as the Aussie coach Eddie Jones0

I doubt that RD would appoint a new manager. We will get the current coaches holding the fort. If Kewell rocks up I would imagine this could be the new owners thinking they can have a last tilt at resurrecting our dying play-off hopes, meaning the takeover will be going through faster thsn we thought. Not ITK, just speculating.0

Kewell (potentially) already has part of his management team in place2

I'm sure he would get plenty of offers.................... from TalkSport2

Robbo tried to resign according to Newshopper???

I'm guessing Roland is awaiting an approach from Oxford so he can get some sort of fee? Or maybe he thinks we will revolt in defence of Robbo. How wrong could he be?cookierules said:

They are going to replace the post boxes for the crossbar challenge with ones for manager for a game & CEO for a game0

Very strange behavior from the serial sacker!
Why keep a manager of that doesn't want to be there0 -

With Duchatelet, despite what he says, always looks for the angle that protects & fills his pocket first. He will be looking for a pay off from Oxford. He also doesn’t want to pay any additional money to anyone caretaking the job, whilst trying to maximise the price in the takeover.LargeAddick said:

Why would Roland not let him resign. If you resign you don't get paid off do you?0
-
I thought he loved it at Charlton?
I thought Roland was a great boss?
Are you telling me Robinson has lied through his teeth and is a complete bellend?
No, surely not.13 -
he won't have to if he accepts KR's resignation. I reckon it's a ploy to get some money from Oxford.Pelling1993 said:

Roland pissing us off again just because he can.0

If Robinson had simply said "I resign" last week, we'd have a caretaker now.LouisMend said:
I imagine he probably said something along the following lines to Roland, "Look, if you want to replace me, I'll go with no problems, just pay up my contract and I'd be off".

Either;MuttleyCAFC said:Why would Roland not let him resign. If you resign you don't get paid off do you?
a) Roland thinks he can hold on a few days and get paid off by Oxford
b) Robinson's resignation was conditional on getting paid out by Roland
c) Roland doesn't like to be told when it's over - he wants to be in control of events
4 -
KR wants a pay-off
RD wants compo from Oxford - for himself
Crawley want compo for losing their manager
Meanwhile the takeover is left hanging
A real Mexican stand-off ....

This might be nearer the truth, Robbo may have wanted some kind of compensation payment. I suppose when you think about it - Roland can't stop him walking! What a sorry state we are in.NornIrishAddick said:
