Still no fecking news then, why can't he just sell up and put us all out of our misery!1

Not sure why some folk are getting so up tight about this.ShootersHillGuru said:Steve Waugh is a cricketer. A winner undoubtedly but a fecking cricketer and not even a cricketer who knows much about British football. Phil (The Power) Taylor was a winner. Steve Davis was a winner. Would you want them anywhere near being involved on the playing side at Charlton.
As I posted further up the thread it’s great to have winners and winning mentality at the club but I’m not getting excited by a rumour that an Aussie ex cricketer who knows zip about us, league one or for that matter The Championship and as much about football as I do is potentially part of a consortium to buy us.
As for being negative about new owners I’m not. I’m desperate for new owners but will be worried if the new owners think that cricket has any answers to our questions.
Is there any indication that he’s going to be involved with the running of the club......as far as I know that’s never been mentioned?
He’s a famous sportsman who has a nice few bucks available for sporting investment I should imagine and knows a shit load of Aussie movers and shakers in the world of sport.
He ‘evidently’ may be part of a consortium of investors who are looking to buy the club......for all we know there maybe other investors from all manner of other sports involved as well as it’s likely the net for prospective investors was thrown far and wide.9 -
Why not...with a bit of sandpaper he may be able to make the ball work for us2

My fear...
1. We get promoted
2. RD decides we are worth £77.5M
3. Buyers walk.
4. RD decides he likes owning us after all
5. We underinvest because RD wants a profit
6. We lose our best players in the winter
7. Get relegated in 2018-19 back to L1
8. RD sells in 2020.
Part of me thinks we are better off not even making the playoffs, because the better we do, the LESS likely a sale becomes as RD wants a higher and higher price.
Hope I am wrong.13 -

Is it too much to ask to just be rid of him/that era - so me can just all move on!4 -
There was a meeting last week between RD’s representative from Belgium and the Aussies, according to multiple sources.24

If Rolly was there he probably would have spent most of the meeting talking about his theories about universal basic income.Airman Brown said:There was a meeting last week between RD’s representative from Belgium and the Aussies, according to multiple sources.

Other than to ask people to stop arguing I don't normally comment on here about ITK stuff, coz I normally know nothing, but I also heard yesterday of the RD rep/Aussie meeting last week, lets keep fingers crossed this time it going to get past the post before next weeks vital game at Rochdale.6

If I was buying the club, I wouldn't want to distract from what the team is trying to achieve and would wait for the right time.0

i.e. We get promoted, Roland decides he wants even more as we're a Championship side and the buyers walk away0 -
Why take the risk?0
