So Roland's interest in our properties is only until £40M is paid?

I reckon it was @SDAddick story about his dog that swung the deal his way #BestFriendsPetCare

Andrew Muir is a successful business leader, entrepreneur and philanthropist, who as CEO of The Good Guys led his family’s business to become Australia’s leading household appliances and electronics retailer.
In 2016, Andrew stepped away from his role as Executive Chairman of The Good Good Guys when JB Hi-Fi acquired the business and today devotes his time to business interests including Best Friends Pet Care and Momatu, and his roles in the community as Director of The Good Foundation and Board Director Essendon Football Club.

Apparently he is going to change our name to "Top Blokes Charlton Athletic".

    Richard Murray in February:
When asked if Roland Duchatelet would keep the ground and training ground

“I heard this thing that Roland was keeping The Valley and selling the club, no, not that I’m aware.

“To my knowledge this (the sale) would be lock, stock and barrel.

“The training ground for any buyer is quite key as well. They realise that for a club like us the academy is essential and I think Jason (Morgan, CEO of the Charlton Athletic Community Trust) is aware that the Trust is very much one of the assets which they (potential buyers) feel is linked to Charlton and can be expanded even further than it has been already.”

Does haiku even count as poetry given its structured format?

Edited to remove a grocer’s apostrophe before I get hammered for just that

Such a shame you didn't put the full stop at the end.
  • Maybe the potential news owne

Would rather Roland remained then have a deal like that and wait for someone who is willing to take on the whole club. Treading on old ground if this happens.

He was asking when the DFS sale ended in the Directors box last night.

Was also told last night (after the game) that the prospective buyer(s) are looking for a £50 million share investment scheme. Could be yet another load of bollux I suppose.
  • If Roland only owns the ground and that untill 40m is paid, it's not the worse scenario and it's a step forward imo.

Probably looking for a fight if he was there. Maybe he had arranged to meet Roland there to sort a few things out mano a mano.

Well hopefully this is the last time I will post this.

Just sell the club and FUCK OFF.

Desperately need some good news after last night so please let the takeover be confirmed soon.

I for one will miss this eloquent prose.
  • I don't think they will appoint Kewell now. It might have been the intention but they need to get the fans onside and dumping Bowyer would be a disastrous move.

This is assuming that Bowyer will want to stay. He's done a great job, he knows it too, there might be a better offer lurking and regardless of how well he has done, Bowyer will know that he wasn't the new owners choice, so there is room for a few doubts in my opinion.

Would love him to continue though, wherever we end up. I really don't want to end up with Harry Kewell, I don't think he has done well enough to deserve a move to a team vying for the top spots in the division above his own.

I spoke to him last night too. He told me his favourite pot noodle flavour is barbecued shrimp.

If RD keeps The Valley protests in Belgium need to continue until we own 100% of everything.

This is my fear, do the Aussies have the funds needed for investment into the club, or, they can’t do both immediately (buy the club & invest) - time will tell

Been my concern with the Aussie bid all along that they don’t have the money needed to run the club

I will wait and see what the official line is before getting excited

If someone doesn’t have 40 mil to buy us out lock stock and smoking barrels then there is serious implications on them being able to make us compete in this league let alone any other ambitious plans they may think they can achieve

True, though it's possible they might believe that paying a smaller price up front and having more to invest in the team initially is a better way to do business. Besides, if Roland is taking 10% of youth player sales until the total price is paid off, then he could be waiting a while and the club will still be keeping 90%, which is significant. It's already been said that Roland cannot lease the assets because the charges from former directors prevent him from doing that, so it's likely the new owners will also own the ground and training ground, so actually, it may not be such a terrible plan overall.

Why spend your own money when you can spend someone else’s?

For example, you maybe able to buy a car in cash but to do so you would have to cash in a long term investment to do so. You don’t want to do this so you borrow the money.

Paying Rolly from youth sales at 10% a pop could be a long drawn out process and would not affect the running of the club in anyway. Could make a lot of sense.

Just asking if there’s a reason why someone wouldn’t want to pay all the money immediately?

Or is it sale or return?

Surely Muir wouldn’t come all the way from AUS just for 90 mins of football - so airman’s rumour about papers signed tomorrow must have weight to it ...

To also have a ‘fans’ tour of the stadium and to talk to fans etc firstly surely means he is confident it will happen , but secondly highlights the kind of owner he will be!

This guy is a massive step up from Duchebag , and without getting carried away - I’m confident this guy can and will be the best owner Charlton will have had!

    You're getting carried away...

If you were buying the club for £50m, would you think a deal to pay £30m and the balance of £20m back at the rate of 10% of youth player sales a good one?

    Too true.

Reading this stuff has given me butterflies all night
But I won't believe it until it's on the official site.
