Thanks, just saw it on twitter myself. Now let’s hope we can get a few more across the line. He’s a good addition.ShootersHillGuru said:2 -
Considering we are a bit of a mess and the fact we still haven't got new owners, quite impressed with the 2 signings.
They are not necessarily world beaters but on paper good signings for this level, if god forbid we get a takeover i would expect alot more but for now it will do... 3 weeks squad is looking pretty bare so hopefully at least a few more without including any further exits.3 -
We've still got till the end of August to bring in a few loan playersjohnnybev1987 said:Considering we are a bit of a mess and the fact we still haven't got new owners, quite impressed with the 2 signings.

We do indeed, and players who are still out of contract. But really we don’t want to be relying on bringing in loan players after the window is shut to help our squad and season. We need stability and good players for this league with us permanently.ForeverAddickted said:

I am assuming that’s Dawkins will sign for us so that’s another body. I also think we will sign a couple more permanent players before Sunderland.1 -
Players out of Contract can be signed whenever though
(Although those not snapped up by the end of August surely do have issues)0 -
As you know, I'm normally a bit of a pessimist & with some signings I'm a bit meh (Reeves being the main one last season)
but this to me is more of a wow ! Been there & done it............even in The Premiership. Very happy with this signing. Just what we need.10 -

If not registered by the end of August they can't play until January.ForeverAddickted said:Players out of Contract can be signed whenever though

Is that right? Surely out of contract players can still be signed outside of the window.Crusty54 said:

I did read that players brought in on loan before the closing of the window, can be offered a permanent contract to take effect in January.
Effectively that makes them a permanent signing.
Is that what you meant?

No - part of the new transfer rules. They can sign but not play until January.Oggy Red said:

Haven't players long been able to do that? We signed Hermann Hreidessen from Ipswich in the March, but couldn't play him until the new season started in August.Crusty54 said:

But that was because he was under contract from another club as at 31st January, and hence could only play for Ipswich for the rest of the season.Oggy Red said:

I think Crusty54 is saying that even if a player is out of contract now, we couldn't sign him on Sept 1st and play him immediately?0 -
As an aside, I notice that as well as Pratley, Bolton also released Devite. Did ok for us before, and still not that old.11

That’s an excellent shout and at 29, you would think he has still a few years left. Done very well for us I thought.killerandflash said:As an aside, I notice that as well as Pratley, Bolton also released Devite. Did ok for us before, and still not that old.
Someone get onto Jacko and get him to bring him in!6 -
Yup Dervite would be a great backup or replacement for Bauer if he were to leave!!3

Bolton are in serious financial difficulties and almost anyone on decent money at the end of their contract has been let go .0
-
Well they've managed to bring in Clayton Donaldson and Erhun Oztumer...Starinnaddick said:Bolton are in serious financial difficulties and almost anyone on decent money at the end of their contract has been let go .

So we all know in an ideal world, we would sign another keeper, right back, left back, centre back, and centre midfielder (although, if we sign a right back, another centre midfielder is not needed, play Dijksteel in his best position). Some may argue another striker also, but I think that’s okay.
One type of player/position I really think we could do with, and really lack, is a left footed winger.
There’s not many about to be honest, most now are right footed players who are either on the right, or like to cut in from the left. But for the balance of the team, and a different dynamic, a natural left footed winger would be interesting.0 -

It shows Amos on £16000, Pratley on £14000, ad Dervite on between £8000 and £11000
I doubt if Donaldson and Oztumer are on that sort of money.3 -
We can't be giving Pratley that sort of wages surely!Starinnaddick said:
