I had one of the partners from Mishcon de Reya in my cab today. I quizzed her but she said she knew nothing about the takeover although if she did, she wouldn’t be able to say anything.
One day one of my passengers will get me ITK

This thread has died now there’s no one taking on all comers.

I think the Lookman factor is being overlooked. It's the last real bit of income Roland is due to receive from the club.
Next week could be interesting if it becomes a factor0 -

I look forward to the day when I finally have some exclusive, and incredibly important information on the takeoverTaxi_Lad said:I had one of the partners from Mishcon de Reya in my cab today. I reckon it'll come when we reach page 17650 -
Is there any new ITK’s out there we can request an update from every hour, say I told you so too, moan at when it goes quiet and repost quotes from months back when feeling pretentious?4

I was thinking about my old school mate today. Back in 1978 we were a struggling Second Division club and he was at The Valley after having undergone three blood transfusions during the week he lost his battle against Leukaemia.
Never to see beyond his teens, Charlton kept him going and gave him extra strength to fight to fight to see the club he loved. He missed our glory years in the top flight. It was just a pipe dream back then that we might get up there again.
I can't help but think that if he had survived that even his devotion to the club would be sorely tested in the last few years. I obviously can't know but I know that Roland just wouldn't understand what drove him on, he simply doesn't get the passion a true football fan has.

I don't believe that this has any bearing on the take-over.cafcwill said:I think the Lookman factor is being overlooked. It's the last real bit of income Roland is due to receive from the club.

"It's likely the takeover will be completed in February"

In the business world of football, is the answer. Irrational spending and buying and wacky economics is the lifeblood of this sport. Rationality has never amounted to much in football.MuttleyCAFC said:So he reportedly has at least two offers on the table that amount to significantly more than he paid for the club. At that time we were in a higher division, had far better players and about twice as many fans attended matches. In what business world does the amount of money you have lost during your failure raise the value of your product?

Oh I think it does. We are talking a couple million. RD wants that money since it appears he is not getting the price he wants. I absolutely believe it is a factor.andynelson said:
