I believe he had the best of intentions when he posted on here but because of the protracted nature of the whole shitfest that is the takeover, things got a little intense and a break was needed. Nothing more than this. Personally I welcome any contributions from whoever if they hear something to add. May be wrong, may be right. As the great HI says, wait until it is on the official site

    James Seed was ridiculously slated by some because things dragged on. Perhaps they should give thought to the other very credible sources we have that also gave some false hope. Richard Murray, Airman Brown both thought things were very close months ago. I am certain that they thought what was said was true.

    None of us know why it’s dragged on but taking our frustrations out on credible posters is bang out of order.

    I’m very grateful to anyone posting what they have heard even if it’s not ultimately 100% accurate.

    Very well said, and I just want to echo this, and add that just because what he said didn't come to fruition doesn't necessarily mean it was inaccurate, but potentially that others things happened.

    I know I've written this before but it bears repeating (not directed at you SHG, just a general thing) he's a bloke, he's not a journalistic institution. It seemed he always passed along what he knew in good faith, but he can't be expected to get independent verification from a diverse set of sources, and that just means he's only as right as his source. And that's ok, and as far as I'm concerned still greaty appreciated.

    I think we've all had moments where we feel like we spend too much time on here. A little break never did anyone any harm. Hope he's back soon.

    If that’s the case then why not make it a ‘new’ post rather than a response to my post that simply expressed surprise that there isn’t a profile category or ‘avatar’ for former members like ‘No longer a member’?

    It’s a bit irritating when my last 2 posts are the only ones I’ve posted on this thread that are not specifically about a takeover (when the thread has multiple posts from multiple posters about anything but a takeover, plus a number having a go at @jamesseed).

    Also, is it really necessary to refer to @jamesseed as ‘Seed’ (like a policeman or old style school teacher) rather than by his user name as is the usual practice?

    You wouldn't have seen them. You have not earned the epithet "CARD ****" , so you were of no interest. And they were sent as direct messages by various social media channels.
