Sixes! Curran once again seizing the moment
  • Maybe Curran should bat at No 3!
  • The fielding and field settings from SL have been exceptionally poor. All credit to Curran though who has batted magnificently again.

that comes from the confidence of batting on the Oval road of a strip.
You just trust your eye and hit everything rather than worrying about the pitch spinning all over the place.
  • Sam Curran ruins things by hitting a 4.

He was heading to a record for the highest score without a 4!

The TV pictures for this reviewed catch are aweful
  • 285 all out.
  • Leach gets the first wicket with a lovely ball.

With England's spin options, it'll be a shame to return back home next summer to seam friendly pitches
  • Kent fans be like.....

    Or maybe I've found Riv???

  • Havnt seen any of the action today, but judging by some of the comments by people like Vaughan and Sidebottom, it seems that 285 is a good score on this track.
  • Just read that Sam and Jimmy put on 60 for last wicket - bravo !

    Sri Lanka currently 139-4
  • Two bits of magic from Stokes changed the course of the session as SL were 127-2 before a brilliant run out from him followed by an excellent one handed catch.
  • Rashy comes to the party with his mix of liquorice all sorts - but it's two beauties that mean that SL are now 184-6
  • And Rooty takes no 7 !

That was hitting middle not middle and leg as suggested by DRS.

When was the last time 4 English spinners each took a wicket in an Innings?

When was the last time 4 English spinners each took a wicket in an Innings?

I think we need Andrew Samson for that one.

It doesn't happen too often that a seamer doesn't take a wicket for us in a completed innings either.

A good bit of fielding from Moeen and a terrible bit of running doing SL out of 9 runs in one ball there
  • LOL - England have been given 5 penalty runs (added to our first innings so now 290 all out) for a SL batsman deliberately not grounding his bat when turning for a 2nd run.
  • I'm not watching the game, but has the wicket got easier to bat on?

There's absolutely nothing in it for the seamers. It's fair to say that our spinners could have bowled better as there is still plenty of spin.

300-8 and a lead of 10 for SL
  • 308-9 Moeen strikes
  • Amazing that before the match there were suggestions that the pitch here would be more seam friendly than the one at Galle!
  • 336 all out and a lead of 46
  • 336 all out. Roshen goes for an excellent 85

Last time the spinners took all the wickets taken by bowlers for England in a Test innings was 1962
  • Leach is opening with Burns. Jennings the bottler!
