Does anyone know this person in real life? Genuine question.

I do.

“Anna and the Smudge”

sounds shit...

I've just completely dropped milk from my diet and shopping list. Don't eat cereal so no problem there, rarely drink tea (well the tea you put milk in anyway) only drink black coffee.

Far less mucus in my life.

Only problem is the non milk based alternatives to whey protein are all proper rank.

Have you tried pea protein? It's not too bad

Not too bad isn't as good as "quite nice!"

I totally understand the difficulty. Will give the my protein options a go when my current bag finishes.

Haha just being honest it's a bit powdery but I use it, I usually whack some bananas in with it and syrup to make it a bit more sugary, there's a really nice vanilla blend on my protein though that needs no boosters

@Dazzler21 I'm a big fan on myprotein and the stuff I use is vegan friendly, although that's just by chance as i love meat.

They also ship to China, which probably doesn't help you.

Right then, last time I went with some meal replacements, this time I'll let people in on the treats.

Oggs chocolate fudge vegan cakes

https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/ProductDisplay?categoryId=&langId=44&productId=1290362&storeId=10151

Also come in lemon and fudge. They're absolutely unreal and no different from a 'normal' cake imo.

Taste: 9/10
Comparison to non vegan cakes: 8.5/10
Price: 5/10
Overall: 7/10 (low marks purely cause of price, 4 quid for 4 cupcakes...)

Next up the chocolate replacement, I personally prefer the version with the dried banana bits but if you don't want to be that adventourous then stick with the milk chocolate version.

Taste: 8/10 (It's no cadburies)
Comparison: 7/10
Price: 6.5/10 (2.50 when you could grab a share bag for a quid on offer)
Overall: 6/10, price mainly let's this one down again.

Lastly and probably my favourite the Nutella replacement. Personally for me I can't really tell the difference and I would go as far as saying it might actually be nicer than Nutella (been a while). Nature's hazelnut choc spread.

https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/chocolate-sweet-spreads/natures-store-hazelnut---cocoa-spread-350g

Taste: 9/10
Comparison: 10/10
Price: 8/10
Overall: 9/10

Your vegan mince is in the fridge @Braziliance and will be a spag Bol tomorrow. Will report back. Had a nice vegan stew with couscous on Wednesday and a vegan masala curry today.

im not going vegan but can certainly see with different sauces, textures etc you can maintain a vegan diet a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Nice one, that's all it is at the end of the day texture. When people try it I just try and make them aware that it's obviously not gonna be as nice as proper mince but it's a very decent replacement

What the F*ck

I think Anna is great.
Me and her would make a great sitcom.

Anna is a man.

Dont assume gender.

A friend of mine (veggie since birth, well seems like that) commented whilst having a beer on Friday night, that many places don’t seem to have a veggie option anymore.

Like people either eat meat or are vegan and nothing in between.

Had some McSweens vegetarian haggis (suitable for vegans) tonight, was nice although needed a good pinch of salt. not a patch on the real thing but I’m sure most meat eaters would say that when trying a veggie substitute of one of their favourite things

Well worth a try

Trying to be vegan, getting on ok apart from cheese. any recommendations?

Don’t eat cheese

The mozzarella strands don’t really work that well other than on pizza.

Agree violife cream cheese, Parmesan, original slices and the Greek cheese substitute all pretty decent if not as good as actual cheese.

if you are a real cheese fan, you aren’t going to be able to replicate it as a vegan.
