There is only one place where a peaceful mass protest of Charlton fans would have any effect.

How many would constitute a mass protest?

I think you might get a hundred or two. Who would be  just a small part of the square.

Dijkstiel is just another mercenary like Grant and Aribo before him . I hope Boro get relegated . Just makes me have more respect for Johnnie Williams and Jason Pearce  .
Maybe they'd have gone to Boro or Rangers had they received the offers Dijksteel and Aribo did.

He’s our best player so we are going to be concerned the hounding and slagging him off on social media could be turned in though

Just because one bid is made and rejected it doesn’t mean a second bid won’t be accepted. If Brentford have made one bid I’m fairly confident they will follow it up with at least a second.
Brentford are the best run club in The Championship. They will come back with £3-4M and get him. I have no doubt.

Hopefully Purrington snaps him in 2 when we play them.

You're losing sight of the real enemy. Dijksteel didn't put a foot wrong in his time with us.
Apart from the og v Blackburn.

Funny how players have lots to say on the trivial & banal stuff but when asked about something important they clam up.

I always say.....if you have something to say, then say it. One way or the other. No harm on Lyle saying..."no truth in the rumours & I'm not going anywhere"

And then what if he gets an offer he couldnt possibly refuse?

Doubtful it'll happen but Lyle's best bet until after 5pm on Thursday is to keep quiet

I think if Boro had offered Williams or Pearce 10 times their Charlton salary, they too would probably be Boro players.
  • no respect tho is there ? might have at least let our fuvked up club announce it before all the pretty pictures-----feck him
Was thinking similar myself. Pretty shitty of him and the club for not having the decency to tell the 'customers' before it is picked up elsewhere.

Not to mention that Williams has long been the receiver of a decent wage in his career so if he's invested his money wisely could now be more charitable with who he joins
  • Dijksteel is just a lad whom passed through for a short period and I will likely soon forget, not because of him but because of the huge turnover in recent years.  He seems a decent lad; although i am still not convinced he will be that good and suspect Wembley with us could be the highlight of his career... but he has a chance.  Good luck to him.

I reckon Taylor will still be here at the end of the window and likely sold in January if he has not re-signed.

I hope Bowyer gets the AD money and still has time to bring in a diamond or six - its a tall ask budget or no budget with a day and a half to go.

Well you're usually wrong, so that's good news for me
  • What's happening with Djiksteel, sounded like a done deal last night

I can only say that every conversation i have had with Dijksteel,s family that he was very happy with Charlton.

That said it is just as easy to get to Middlesbrough from IJmuiden as it is Charlton.

But if you were a young man would you want to live in Middlesbrough after having lived in London ?.
He won't be living in Middlesbrough, it's just where he'll play.
And where will he be socialising ? Or is the plan for him to sit indoors for a couple of years ?
You obviously don't know the North East. Where do you think Newcastle players live and socialise. I'm sure he can afford a car.

Lyle has also posted “Sabali” on his Instagram.

From a quick google it looks like this means patience.

I hope Taylor will stay play this season and if it all goes badly wrong walks away at the end of the season, meaning Roly gets nothing.
  • Remember Lyle also has to agree personal terms, he likes it at cafc

Exactly. It's his manor, and he needs his routine, which includes lunch at Stayen pretty much every day.

That said, he employs a lot of the 30k citizens, and has a good (but not invincible) relationship with local plod.

Another mass protest is worth doing and do-able, but we should also think about other ways to embarrass him in front of those whose admiration he craves.

I really admire the Led by Donkeys poster campaign but thus far we didn't get sensible quotes for posters over there. I would love to know how, and for how much the Donkeys guys got that big poster in Brussels for the very moment of Theresa May's visit.

Seriously though, what are you and your middle aged buds gonna do? Wander round with a few leaflets and placards? Don’t mean to demean you fella but it ain’t gonna work. In the unlikely event a few bods went out there and ”something” happened, you’d be the first one condemning them and distancing yourself from them. Kudos to you for wanting to do something but these protests didn’t work before and won’t work now. For me, I have no idea what the solution is as I’m not by nature a protestor, so feel free to slam me for criticising whilst having no alternative suggestions 👍🏻
    Middle aged? I'll take that.

No inside knowledge here but I’m thinking that Boro players earning £20 - 30 per week don’t hang out in downtown Middlesbrough.

Because they are bigger than us, have an owner with ambition, would pay him much more and a have a much bigger budget?

Not that players care about any of those things.

They live in Darlington. Back to back terraces are more affordable there
