The Takeover Thread - Duchatelet Finally Sells (Jan 2020)

The only knowledge I have of RD selling the club is what I read on this post, but in my opinion, the optimum time to have pushed a sale through was in the immediate aftermath of Wembley when the value was probably at its peak.Since then, players leaving, and rumours aplenty about other imminent departures will only have made the club a less viable proposition. regret to say,I hope I am wrong, but I think we are stuck with him.3

This with bells on - he’s missed his chance to earn a maximum price on the club. Only going to go down hill from here, we’re stuck with him.thickandthin63 said:The only knowledge I have of RD selling the club is what I read on this post, but in my opinion, the optimum time to have pushed a sale through was in the immediate aftermath of Wembley when the value was probably at its peak.Since then, players leaving, and rumours aplenty about other imminent departures will only have made the club a less viable proposition. regret to say,I hope I am wrong, but I think we are stuck with him.0 -

I don't need to dwell on it. I've seen LDT at work, he's so out of his depth, he's incompetent and he lies for Duchatelet and he doesn't want to be there.PragueAddick said:
Well, yeah, fair point. Although I believe de Turck once had a "normal" kind of job as a CFO and I bet he had to keep his phone on during holidays then. Oh, well.Henry Irving said:

Ok so even if he is on holiday, I'd have thought that by text at least he'd arrange any requested meeting for when he gets back. That's kind of normal access expected of high level managers.JamesSeed said:

All I knew about the Aussies up until recently is what you've written on here. The only extra thing I know now is that Charlton say that they have not seen or heard anything from them since they lost one of their consortium.JamesSeed said:
If they’d gone, why would they tell me they haven’t? That doesn’t add up.PragueAddick said:PragueAddick said:
Hi James. Who told you that, and why, I wonder? I know that it is untrue.JamesSeed said:GM and Aussies still in the hunt, but there’s no one around to deal with them at the moment, apparently. Chaos.
The word fed back from the club about the Aussies is that they lost one of their investors and have not been heard of since. But that too could be disinformation, or a part truth.
Over time they’ve lost several investors - each time Roland moved the goalposts. Can you blame them for pulling out, when they get effed about by Roland?
So I just think its a bit odd, what you have been told now. What could it mean? I suppose de Turck could be on holiday but Murray is there for sure, because who else is handling the transfers? There is no CEO. I suppose Murray in turn might say, I can't talk before deadline day but I cannot believe they cannot set up a meeting with either him or de Turck for beginning of next week.

How can you use that word in relation to this regime or sales process.
BTW I get that Gallen is our recruitment ace but do you believe he has to handle the outward shit too? Like when Boro moved for Dijksteel, he had to field their call and then ask RD what he wants to do?
Dwell on how shit that is for him, if that is indeed how this is set up.3 -

I'd expect nothing from Duchatelet's mob.PragueAddick said:

The book 'The longest Sale' will be out in about four years, after Roland changes his mind about selling the club.0 -

So everything "Charlton" say is a lie, except when you want it to be true?PragueAddick said:

Also, as we have ruled out the "local boy made good" saving us, we have been for sale, one way or another for 15 years, the only 2 parties that are intrested have a direct line through you and Mr Seed?1 -

Would you invest in a company led by a spiteful idiot with no judgement who cannot even manage to sell assets he doesn't want?BigRedEvil said:Melexis shares are down 27% in the past year. Let's hope that continues as it maybe the only way Roland decides to sell us

Knocked out in the group stages of the Benson and Hedges Cup; tenth in the John Player League. And, during the following winter made the decision to bolster their squad by offering to sign both Benson and Hedges and offered the captaincy and a lucrative, long-term contract to John Player.blackpool72 said:

(And then spent the next several years claiming they'd come through Surrey's academy system all along)1

I know I'm on a sticky wicket here but there is so little SOC going on that the Kent/Surrey debate has hijacked this long running saga.
It's just not football.0 -
            Roland out!3

I've inboxed AFKA to tell him that the bullying of Surrey supporters on here has gone too far.
He has promised me that several Kent and one Worcester supporter will receive lifetime bans unless they collectively come on here and appolagise unreservedly.5 -

I heard the opposite and he was blocking all IP addresses from sub Sahara Africa?blackpool72 said:I've inboxed AFKA to tell him that the bullying of Surrey supporters on here has gone too far.

Heard that some Israelis are being showed round the training ground and have already handed in paperwork to the EFL
Aussies take note 😉4 -

Are you able to expand on that? It would be interesting to know where you heard that and what else you heard about "some Israelis".LTKapal said:Heard that some Israelis are being showed round the training ground and have already handed in paperwork to the EFL

Heard they came from the Brighton area and it was being brokered by Steve Gallen.Chizz said:

Sale to be announced tomorrow.I'm joking of course at the expense of the potential incoming transfers and don't actually see us being sold till at least January now, but i've given up trying to second guess Roland so who knows.

            Posted this on transfers thread:
I just hope Roland isn’t thinking of hanging around now the running costs have been lowered. Perhaps he thinks we might go on a run so he can put the price up again? Perhaps he’s even dreaming of the Premier League 😩

Given the unprecedented transfer window, and assuming that at least some of the rumours are true (we turned four multimillion pound bids down for Taylor?) I do wonder what has changed. Have we been taken over and the announcement has not yet been made. It all feels very odd at the moment.0

I suggested this scenario earlier today.SX_Addick said:Given the unprecedented transfer window, and assuming that at least some of the rumours are true (we turned four multimillion pound bids down for Taylor?) Something doesn't add up, does it ....1 -
The only reason we did not sell Taylor when the offer of £4.5M came in is that Roland was getting his teeth whitened at the time and missed the call.

            15 August and 15 October please @JamesSeed...1
