Christ, just read their forum preview, they must still think its 1980.
Good, it makes me even more up for it tonight.

We always score at least two this season, at least in the league.

All those expecting a loss therefore expect us to concede at least three.
Come on Dazzler, we're not going to score at least 2 every game.

they've sold out the away end it seems, decent for a midweek away
  • Spoke with a colleague who is a Forest season ticket holder, Brum were woeful on Saturday and the score line somewhat flattered Forest. Heart says a win head goes with a draw. Never let my heart over rule head.
    A tight 1-1

Who remembers the home game v Forest in our promotion season of 1998 ?

Forest were top or near top & it absolutely lashed it down & very windy.

We beat them 4-2 and my abiding memory, is all the disabled fans in front of the West Stand getting absolutely "mullered" in the stormy conditions.

I also recall the 2-1 win over Cloughie's team in January 1977, on their start of their run to League 1, then Champions of L1 and then European Cup winners.

Forest games are usually very good.

Didnt we beat them in the Cup 4-1 at the Valley that season too? - Or was the the following season?

Certainly remember going to both cup and league game

Another very good preview by one of the Charlton Life resident Journalist. We were dealt a rough hand when the fixtures were announced. Didn’t think we’d get too many points out of August but the lads have exceeded my expectations thus far. Another tricky game tonight. Forest are a good side. We’re on the google box so not expecting a win. If we get a point, I’ll be happy. If we win, I’ll be over the moon Brian. If we lose, sick as a parrot 🦜
  • I am useless at predictions and always err on the side of pessimism anyway.
One thing we have learned about Bowyers addicks is that they regularly defy the doubters, and through hard work, team spirit and no little ability are consistently better than the sum of their parts.
So however our opponents compare on paper, I don't think this team can ever be written off.
I don't think any result would surprise me tonight, but all the while we remain unbeaten you have to believe we can pull off a win particularly at home.

I think the result could be anything.
I wouldn't be amazed if we won or lost by 4.
    I'll go 2-1 to Charlton.

    Live TV game.
    All midweek games on Sky.

    The rest will be Leeds.
I know your joking but read somewhere that SKY have to show at least two home games on TV per Championship team

So people should expect at least two games at the Valley to be moved for the cameras

(I dont think that the midweek games count towards those two fixtures being shown)
But will one of ours be home to Leeds 🤑
Nope... SKY games have already been announced for that weekend

Friday: Stoke v Nottingham Forest | Saturday: QPR v West Brom | Sunday: Barnsley v Brentford

Are the games over that weekend

I wouldnt be surprised if the Millwall game in April gets picked as one

    Battle for relegation ;)
Who are Millwall battling for relegation? I believe we will be comfortable in the range of 6th to 16th.
  • Looking forward to this so much.  A proper European Giant back at the Valley under the floodlights.

    Sure beats Fleetwood.

Either Hamed or Oztumer to come in for Leko and then hopefully the ball can start sticking up top a bit more. We had very little possession in the attacking third at Oakwell because Leko isnt currently playing as part of a team. He is doing his own thing and its thent very easy for a defence to swamp Lyle.

Tough game tonight. They were impressive at the weekend and are starting to gel

this is a cracking benchmark tonight. It will show if we are actually a decent side or if we are punching above our weight.

i think I’d take a draw but think there will be goals 2-2

strange as their forum said they'd sold out (which I'll admit I was surprised about given it's midweek)

I’d be tempted to throw Hemed straight into the starting line-up tonight.

You’d image all of Forest’s research on our team doesn’t account for Hemed - he could throw a spanner in the works and free up some space for Lyle.

Leko’s pace off the bench as well.

    All midweek games on Sky.

    The rest will be Leeds.
Apparently you can press the red button and pick between six different Leeds games.

One day Leeds will realise the reason they don’t get promoted despite being favourites every season is because as the season is going into the final months every team they play against will have seen them on the box umpteen times and listened to the expert analysis of their players, plays and weaknesses
  • We're the last of the promoted teams, we didnt win the League but technically got promoted on a lottery

Everyone will expect to beat us

To be fair, Leeds will be dropped like a ton of bricks in January when Sky instead concentrate on Wayne Rooney's Derby County...

And even better for them we will have played Derby twice by the end December so they won't have to show us!
  • Entertaining 0-0 draw with one sent off from each side.

Who's off for us? Pearce with a late thuggish challenge after being beaten for pace?
