Will take that every day. Three years is basically a longer contract than offered to anyone in the last two years of the Roland regime - and in a time where Championship football managers average around ten months in the job, this is great. I like it.

3 years seems a lot more sensible. Could always have options in it to extend it to 5.

Waiting for people to complain that it's only 3 years instead of 5. Glad it's finally done!
Bloody hell 3 years not bloody good enough blah blah blah 😉
  • Only 3 years???  Did he not like the 5 year deal or did Esi go back on what was said in the original press conference?

Don’t know but I’m sure it will be analysed to death on here over the next few days 🙄

No doubt it's a better 3 year deal for Bowyer than the 5 one offered.

3 years is very sensible, and quite standard. 5 year contracts, whether player of manager can be pretty risky (Naby Sarr). If you're complaining about the length after complaining for weeks that it wasn't done, Idk what else to tell you

I can only assume he has been promised a decent budget in the summer otherwise I don't think he would have signed.
    Great news

Not complaining, but what sort of agent does Bowyer have. Southall clearly said five years, but his agent has negotiated it down to three!!! 😉

Oh and fantastic news. Few signings now please and everyone will be happy. Well apart from maybe golf...

Great news. Hope we can push on and get some players signed up now.
  • Happy with that, well done ESI, very positive news.
  • At last! Now perhaps we can make some progress with player signings.

Technically it's a 3.5 year deal as it's running to the summer of 2023 which is 3 full seasons and the remainder of this season which is just under halfway left.

    Excellent news.
  • Excellent!!... Be curious to find out why its only a three year deal rather than five years but meh!!

We've got Bowyer tied down for the foreseeable future - thats the main thing!!

There was one rumour that although the original offer was 5 years, any comp for a sacking was based on a rolling one year contract.

I suspect that this is the compromise and that the 3 year deal doesn't include that clause.

Great news and hopefully the full coaching team is also signed up.  Hopefully now a few players can start to come in.  Will be interesting to see whether the rumoured returns tonight get on and how that affects the next 10/11 days.

Same can be said for our prospects in the last week or so of the window. If he didn't truly think we'd get in reinforcements in this window, I don't think he signs

Wouldn't be surprised if it was Bowyer/his agent who negotiated down to 3 years. Who wants to potentially be on championship wages after being in the prem a couple of years, there may have been a clause that they don't need to pay him off for the full 5 years, so not like there's much more security. It would scare other clubs off trying to get him as manager, which for us would be great, but from a negotiating standpoint not great for Bow.

    3 year deal is perfect.

Probably gets more money per year in a three year deal.
  • Great news!!! Now let’s get some reinforcements in pronto!

I reckon he has a good agent.
5 year contract full of weird.

Or a 3 year normal contract.

I reckon Bowyer and his agent came out on top.
