It might be better to have Aneke on the bench rather than Bonne as he has had a few U23 games under his belt.1

4 x more knocks reported today .....0

🤔. We must be doing something wrong in training. This is silly.0

Dunno about Field, maybe he didn't need to be risked tonight so there wasn't room on the bench for him? Maybe Smith fits the game plan better for tonights match?
Midfielders can be rotated, Bowyer has already said. We didn't bring in 4 midfield loans in January for nothing.2 -

Hope Sam Field isnt going to be one of those injury prone players over the years
He's rated by the West Brom fans and was impressed with him whenever I saw him for us, just cant shake this knee problem though1 -

It's the one serious injury that perhaps he's tried to come back from too soon, that likely just needs time to heal fully.
Just a niggle, our people are saying. He's a West Brom player - and it sounds like they've insisted he's assessed at their own medical facilities.

Sounds like all but Field available for saturday. Sensible precautions not to risk them and backs up why we went for so many midfielders in january.5

No need to rush back Field until he's properly ready.
PS: Just had a thought. Maybe the extra loanee was signed in case Field had his loan terminated?

I was told last night by someone who knows Williams quite well that he was quite down after his appearance at Stoke , which is unusual for him.
Although the term "rested" is probably true, it would appear that the treatment he received from those lovely Potters was worse than he normally expects.
For "rested" , maybe "recovers" would be a fairer description ?0 - Sponsored links:

With Oztumer and McGeady now on board, there is no need to flog JW into the ground.
Keep him for those 'winnable' home games, and maybe the last twenty or thirty minutes away from home.
He is obviously fragile, so need to treat him carefully.6 -

I doubt there is a player in the Championship that gets fouled as much as he is.

I remember Ogrizovic getting injured all the time and of course our own Page, then there was "sicknote" Darren Anderton.0 -

I get the feeling that our response to these fouls has changed during the season in that we now go down when fouled so the ref has to make a decision, and I think this has helped. It is a pity we have not got a real specialist free kick taker to make these count more as this would reduce the fouls on Williams (and Taylor).1 -

I thought McGeady was supposed to be a bit tasty from free kicks around the box mind you he'd have to be ever present but won't be.1

McGeady can take free kicks and corners I believe. And penalties.4

Plus Taylor and Cullen this season.
Not Naby though.

They'd be frightened to challenge Williams. Just get in the box, Jonny.
