Not sure I understand exactly what Rick is saying there. Is Southall suggesting that Chris Parkes was at fault for the missing paperwork not being submitted, or is it that Parkes was going to the EFL on Nimer's behalf behind Southall's back?
Reads to me like CP contacting the EFL at the request of TN, presumably to remove MS as CEO and replace him with Claudio Florica.

That, of course, upset MS and hence the pathetic act of a desperate man in suspending a long standing servant of the club.

Club secretary is a very important and official role in arranging fixtures, travel, registrations and a million other things. Who the hell is doing all this stuff now?
Praps it'll be Big Tone, what could possibly go wrong, other than the team turns up on Saturday in Kingston-upon-Thames rather than Kingston-upon-Hull

Possibly, or could be TN asking RP to check if his paperwork had been submitted to the EFL.

Meanwhile cahones celebrates there’s someone at the club less popular than him!
He's been acting Billy big bollocks and all. Walking round like he owns the place. Probably trying to fit in with Southalls mates. Probably calls himself 'Vice vice chairman'.

When Chris retires, he should write a book about the shenanigans that have gone on over the years at Charlton .. blockbuster

Chris Parkes is a top man, whose integrity and commitment to Charlton are beyond question.

He's seen a number of cowsons come and go during his long tenure at the club and I expect one to two more will be exiting in short order.
  • What on earth is going on at our club?

The biggest game in years coming up and there's more soap on here than in superdrug!

I would like to see Lee and the squad coming out in support for Chris, Lee knows Chris’s contribution over the years .....

As much as I’m 100% behind Parkes on this, I’d prefer Bowyer and the team concentrate fully on there job for Saturday. Aware it’s difficult but they have to stay focused on the game only.

Do we think Bowyer will be allowed to focus on the game during his presser?
I bet he can’t wait for that fun and games

The best way to do that is go up to Hull and win.

Chris Parkes is a genuine fan and that is what he would want.

I am guessing Chris Parkes would want that too.

I'd guess that Chris Parkes role is more like Company Secretary, so filing accounts, changes of ownership, AGMs, board meetings that sort of thing. Doubt a 72yo is arranging away travel, fixtures and the like. Will still be sorely missed by all I'm sure.

No, he's not company secretary, he's the club secretary and yes he is arranging away travel, fixtures, player registrations etc etc etc.

    Or at least he was.

    Yes.
Chris has to be across fixtures, player registration and eligibility at all levels, liaison with other clubs over fixtures at all levels, arranging sundry and incidental payments, travel and accommodation and a million and one other things. His wealth of experience cannot be simply bought, or replaced by any old person.
He is most certainly one of us however singular his style might appear to some people, suspending him is a spiteful act of utter folly. If those who have suspended Chris lecture us with weasel words about trust and such like they can fuck right off.

in rapid revised travel arrangements for this weekends trip to Hull the squad will stay overnight @Leeds_Addick gaff, kipping on a selection of bunk beds and put-you-ups while the management top n tail on Mrs LA’s chaise lounge. 😉

I live in Yorkshire so if the boys want somewhere to stay my house is free on Saturday night.

Phillips can have the sofa, there's a bed for anyone that scores and anyone who averages a 7+ in the player marks gets a blow up bed and a blanket.

It's a tent in the garden for anyone else. There's a couple of right scummers round the corner who seem to fight every weekend. Southall can stay there.

On a serious note, let's hope Parkes returns to work as soon as possible. Fantastic servant to this football club and far as I know didn't gift himself a Range Rover after 5 minutes either.

Is it Chris that submits the teamsheet to the referee before matches as well?

Yes. With a bit of luck they will strike saturday
  • Chris Parkes has my utmost respect, a top bloke, whose professionalism, honesty and integrity have never been questioned by a series of owners. The fact that Southall has suspended him is a clear message that he is panicking, trying to save his arse. If one act could indicate who is in the right, Southall or Nimer, then for me this is it. I now want Southall out of the club asap, to prevent a total meltdown. I have met Chris on a few occasions and have always been impressed with his knowledge of the club, and his humble nature. As I write this I am getting more and more angry with the way he has been treated. Fuck off Southall!

Chris will have a strong case for wrongful dismissal but I expect it won't get that far. He will have the last laugh here as Southall exits stage left.
    He's been suspended, not dismissed.

Southall should be suspended ( by his effing neck).
