Barnsley threatening EFL ahead of Disciplinary action for Wednesday, Derby & Birmingham

There would be a certain irony in the EFL making such a mess of this case that they have to punish Wednesday next season considering Weds are in the dock for putting something in the wrong yearraytreacy69 said:Have a horrible feeling that the EFL will say that due the complexities and time involved in both cases that any punishment will be effective from next season

See, that is the issue that should get the 21 point deduction. They may have had agreement with the EFL that they could sell the stadium to themselves but I doubt that they had agreement to put the money into a previous accounting year.......especially into one in which the new owning "company" didn't yet exist.Garrymanilow said:

This is not Miss Jones in accounts wrongly putting an order for 50 biro pens into the wrong column. This is outright cheating & probably fraud. If you or I done this with our Self Assesment tax returns then I expect a massive fine and/or prison time, not a rap on the knuckles.5 -

On cooler reflection I've settled on the realisation that this whole "process" is just window dressing for the EFL to engage in its favourite hobbies, namely: lowering its strides, bending over and pleading to be shafted over and over again while being berated and verbally abused in the most profane and humiliating ways imaginable. No pain, or degradation ever quite satisfies them.bobmunro said:StigThundercock said:
who is "still submitting evidence" wendies or EFL?bobmunro said:My understanding is that the hearing involving Sheffield Wednesday has not yet been completed - they are still submitting evidence. So nowhere near the appeal stage yet.
what can possibly take from November til now to produce - if it has any validity at all
Yet more evidence that EFL is a willing contributor and active participant in the maximum deferment of proceedings and mitigation of any grounds for sanction - in short they're in it up to their necks
Wendies. You dont happen to have their number, do you?(asking for a friend)1 -
So about that SW points deduction22
-
It only benefiting us makes it even less likely to happen, the EFL know we won't be able to fight the decision.LTKapal said:So about that SW points deduction4 -
Bet there not suing now4

No chance. The club that was threatening legal action, Barnsley, stay up. Easy for the efl now to do what they're good at,fuck allLTKapal said:So about that SW points deduction1 -
No-one left at CAFC to force the issue. EFL will get off lightly with no pressure from Barnsley to do anything about it.5
-
Too late for this season now.
They'll likely just start next season with a deduction if found guilty.0 -
Having to rely on two lots of points deductions to stay up. We don't deserve it.1

that's where farnell Steps in 😂😂😂😂2 -
EFL will give them an eight point deduction then so we go down on Goal DifferenceWHAddick said:Don’t we ‘only’ need a massives 9 points deduction...surely possible.
They've not relegated Maccesfield for off field issues, they wont do it to Wednesday too2 -
They have set a precedence with Birmingham last year. Macclesfields case was completely different.....I say in desperationForeverAddickted said:

But as we saw with Macclesfield, they make up their points deduction penalties as they go alongTodds_right_hook said:

Shambles from the EFL really .
Feel sorry for those involved.0 -
Like your we are staying up bollocks you are wrong here. They are appealing the independent panel two points deduction as they feel it is not severe enough/ForeverAddickted said:

Come on peeps... We are not going to be saved by Sheffield fucking Wednesday.... Yes they will probably get a deduction.... But for next season!
Accept we're down and lets get behind the Trust to really start causing some issues because if we don't sort the owners out we will not have a club at all.4 -
lol! Wondered how long it would take - Apologies for believing in my club and sticking by the playersbolloxbolder said:

Dont worry I'll take all the comments on the chin about not giving up on survival unlike everyone else who predicted relegation a long time ago7 -

I'd laugh so hard if Wednesday got a deduction applied this season. Doubt it though.3

Barnsley, with jeans and white trainers south london footy geyser as a manager deserved to stay up2

I don't think it's that fans didn't believe in their team it's just that in this particular season we have been kicked around so much on and off the field that your self belief gets worn down..a lot of us saw this coming it was inevitable....the team did not have enough fight and I lost faith like many others but it didn't stop me supporting the team though.2

Unfortunately for me, supporting the team goes as far as refusing to give up even when the future looks bleak... I dont see the point elsepeterreeves said:I don't think it's that fans didn't believe in their team it's just that in this particular season we have been kicked around so much on and off the field that your self belief gets worn down..a lot of us saw this coming it was inevitable....the team did not have enough fight and I lost faith like many others but it didn't stop me supporting the team though.
Not a dig by any means but for me its part n parcel along with games like the Play-Off Final, its easy to get behind the team in that scenario so for me its just as easy to believe in the team in a situation like this
As I've said throughout the season when I've argued we'd survive, part of me always felt we might get relegated but that I'd refuse to believe or accept it until it actually happened9 -
At least I don't have to get that tattoo done now of Alan Nixon is my hero... Phew!ForeverAddickted said:

I don’t accept that we are down when another team cheated in several ways to show a false profit, they were caught back in November, so should receive deduction this season!peterreeves said:Come on peeps... Are Barnsley still going to Appeal then...??1
-
I'm sure Farnell is compiling his case against the efl if Sheff Wed get let off!3
