I think these players don’t get on for some reason or bowers lost the dressing room been told 2 players causing shit will try fine out more because I’ve had enough it’s not right on us fans.1

ValleyGary said:I would be a lot less pissed off with LB if he said “I got that wrong, I’m a young manager still learning blah blah blah”. A refreshing change. Instead he digs out a player and shifts blame. Cannot be good for the dressing room and now a large fraction of the fans see through it.1

I get that we put the squad together last minute that some players haven't had a preseason and we've had a few injuries but whatever team you pick should be playing a system whereas our midfield just stroll around aimlessly killing the momentum and looking for sideways or backwards passes also why play a left footer on the right and vice versa it just slows play down and makes the service to the front 2 even worse. No pace no leadership no running into space no idea and this has been the case for several games this season not just the last couple2

I don't like public criticism of players. I didn't like it when Bowyer did it to Morgan and Bonne last season, and I don't like it when it's happened again this season to Morgan (again), Bogle and Williams, especially when other players have done similar in matches anyway. Keep that to the dressing room25

Well it sounds like having a headache at lunchtime saved me a tenner, as I slept through the entire thing. Reckon we'll be lucky to get the standard 1min 15secs on Quest tonight?

I didn't purchase today's game as the football I've seen every game this season has on the whole been dreadful.
I think the 6 wins on the spin masked some of the ability of our squad which I suppose should be expected given how they arrived and the ownership issues it was cobbled together.
However I am beginning to question Bowyer, his game management, his tactics and lineups, have been far too negative for too long and too predictable. And I don't like the criticism his been making of individuals in the past few weeks. Something doesn't seem right.

We got what we deserved, you could see it coming.
It doesn't matter too much who plays, if they are all told to keep possession as a priority and therefore they must pass the ball sideways and backwards.
The only time we moved the ball forwards with speed we scored.
I thought we reached an all time passing sidewards/backwards low today, when we amazingly passed back to our goalie twice from the attacking half.
I'm beginning to wonder what we'll do if we get a penalty.
Will we pass it back to Amos to keep possession?
I feel we have the players to produce better attacking football, but the manager is preventing them.
I love Lee Bowyer, but I feel the fans will become increasing impatient if he continues his desire to play chess.12 -

Great potential but he's not delivering and certainly not consistently.8 -
As with last season when we go on a little winning run we flatter to deceive - very little forceful free flowing attacking football on display0
-
This team is starting to remind me of the Russell Slade team....but without the ability of Ricky Holmes. Reasonably solid for the most part but pretty limited in the entertainment department.4

AFKABartram said:Rob7Lee said:Awful performance again, pulling of Williams as he says he shirked a challenge was naive and stupid of Bowyer.
Somethings not right in that dressing room, players don't talk to each other.
Maddision seems to have zero friends in camp, no one seems to talk to him, ever!
Gunter disappeared straight down the tunnel today although to be fair that may have been in part having just conceded the penalty.
Players don't seem to communicate on the pitch, no one talks to each other, Pratley is probably one of the few that does, Pearce doesn't, Watson despite all his experience doesn't.
And Bowyers been digging out players publicly.
Something is definitely not right at the moment.20 -
Bows lost the plot, his obsession with negative defensive play is borderline embarrassing now. I'm not sure what has changed, but he used to have us playing nice stuff. Also his management of Williams is a complete joke.7

It has some very good players for this level in it.0

Same rumours everytime we go on a bad run.1 -
The thing is, when we had a turgid, defensive, lacklustre team before, Bowyer could point to a lack of funds and bell-end ownership higher up the chain.
Now he's been given funds and an endorsement by an owner worth a damn but the football has not improved.
I'm not saying Bowyer out. But I am very much saying he's in a bit of trouble if things don't change very quickly.1 -

Possibly mate. I am a big fan and have started a thread previously saying so but I find his constant hitting the deck looking for fouls a bit frustrating and it seems to be pretty frequent.
He literally jumped out of the tackle today which led to us being immediately under pressure.
I make bowyer right on this one and expect that Williams or any other player will now think twice before bottling a challenge again whilst he's in charge.2 -

Or did we beat Ipswich because there is more unrest there than here
The issue is players arent taking teams seriously enough!!2 -
Blucher said:A late sickener in the final minute of injury time felt like last season revisited but we were under the cosh for the last 15 minutes and lacked the ability and composure to get out of our own half. A low quality, scrappy game and, objectively speaking, a draw was a fair result against a limited Shrewsbury side. That looked to me like bog standard League 1 fare - slow, pedestrian and a lack of movement and imagination.
A very worrying performance from a team with promotion aspirations. A win would have papered over the cracks to a limited extent but, overall, this was simply not good enough.
On the plus side, Pearce and Famewo were solid in central defence and Amos turned in another good performance. Maatsen also did well and, in the first half, was our only real attacking threat. Watson had a decent enough game in midfield but we lacked any fluidity and offered practically up top. Chuks looked sluggish at the start of the game and was well shackled by their big defenders, whilst Washington was ineffectual and too easily dispossessed. The substitution of Jonny Williams looked a little petulant and ill-considered.
Plenty for Bowyer to ponder and much work to be done this week at Sparrows Lane.
