This is what I don't get about LB. There's always someone else to blame. If it's not a Bonne for missing an opening goal it's a defender for not clearing his lines. It is because our margins for success are so narrow that we can't afford to make that one mistake.
The reality is that on average this season we have had one shot on target every half an hour. If we continue to not playing creative players and even bringing a sub, who might positively influence the game, off because he misses a tackle the situation will remain the same.

If so how many would we have left on the pitch.
Washington was useless he should have been subbed not Williams.
Bogle, Washington and Aneke how many tested their keeper.
Are Watson and Pratley havings a competiton to see who is the slowest?
Our only decent players Amos, Maatson, Pearce and Famenwo.
Even Albie gave the game away. They were only going to score with a pen
and we gave them one? Some players should hang their heads in shame"1 -

Danny Cowley is the only name I've seen mentioned?
Have a little faith I say. We are still well in with a playoff shout and a good run prior to that and who knows.4 -
There are far more people saying that people are calling for LB to be sacked, then actual people calling for LB to be sacked.

Fan expectations are a crazy thing. Remember less than 3 months ago we very nearly went out of business. You don't go from that scenario to one where you run away with the league quickly.
This squad was assembled quite literally from nothing and in an extraordinary short piece of time. All anger should be directed to the blood suckers that stunk the place out whilst robbing it blind for months and their predecessors that couldn't really give a shit.
People calling for Bowyer. Who would you realistically replace him with?
Reputation and higher rankings count very little when trying to navigate out of the shit forsaken league. He's got us out before and I think he can get us out again.
But this season? unlikely with the terrible hand he was dealt prior to TS turning up.
However as AFKA said on the OP, Bowyer needs some good performances in the next few games. You can sense fans frustration and patience is wearing thin. That will only continue to grow if he keeps playing this boring predictable as fck football and not acknowledging any blame when the results are poor.
Defensively we looked fine today with Pearce and Akin back so that's good news with a busy December coming. Just creatively we seem void at the moment and that's for LB and the coaches to sort out. I'm still confident they can do that.0 -
SantaClaus said:Calls for Bow's sacking are ridiculously premature. Unless we go into freefall he deserves to see out the season before any decisions are made.
5pts from 15 is pretty crap and we've 'nicked a couple of them points along the way tbh.

To elaborate, he needs to reflect on why we are so shit.
Our performances this season have been few and far between and if you ommit the Ipswich game we've been dreadful.0 -

This will sound perverse but Bowyer has become a victim of his own success.
He made a silk purse out of a sow's ear last season and damned nearly avoided relegation.
We started the season with an even poorer squad for reasons we all know and did ok given the situation. Then Thomas came in, the transfer embargo was lifted and Lee got three or four new bodies in.They gelled instantly and went on a terrific run which torpedoed us up the table. The expectation of fans, all of whom were simply grateful for the Club's existence just a few weeks before, went through the roof.
However this is Charlton. You can always rely on an injury or ten to derail us and the international break meant the momentum of our run came to a juddering halt.
Thomas has improved the Squad but to some extent Bowyer is still moving decchairs around the Titanic.
I'm as guilty as anyone in forgetting this during the heat of the match, read the match thread, but we need to remember where we were.
We have a chance of play offs with all our players fit but otherwise, in reality, top half is as good as it gets as it stands.
Not Bowyer's fault at all but the criminal lack of investment on the playing side by Duchatelet and the crooks respectively.
Remember where we've been and what we've gone through and then give thanks to Lee Bowyer and his staff for sticking with us. They need our support not demands for their heads on a platter right now.
COYR
The here and now needs the attention. We should have seen the game out, not digging out a player for not putting in a challenge.
Needs an experienced head on that coaching staff ASAP.1 -

The issue is players arent taking teams seriously enough!!
Not disagreeing with you, just don't think we can solely blame the squad.3 - Sponsored links:

During the game I checked with my lad which team was second from bottom.Only consolation today is I am still in with a shout for the Range Rover.0

Smashing the leather off the ball...
Defenders should have done better with the dropping ball. Morgan shouldn't be playing left back because Maatsen has gone for a little jog and lost possession... Again.6 -
I can only assume something is fractured behind the scenes we don't know about.
I used to moan we were too slow and predictable but that was an utter shambles against technically poor opposition who, in the end , deserved to win.
Maatsen, Amos and Famweo did alright. The rest were abject . Gilbey is auditioning for scapegoat of the season but has lots of competition.
A complete embarrassment from the announcement of the line up onwards.

be and when, and lets face it, we haven't known him that long, and up till now only
positive agreeable things have flowed from his direction.
We haven't seen his rough edges, and how he gets what he wants, so therefor nothing
is a given regarding Lee, lets just hope things start to do a u turn very soon.1 -

He's still in credit. But he's burning through it somewhat.1 -
Backwards football, awful tactics and total lack of ball retention. We are going in reverse fast. Bowyers calling out Williams is ridiculous and I would be amazed if he has not already lost the dressing room. Hope he turns it around, fear he won't.0

I'm certainly not calling for LB to go. Actually I still think we will go up in an automatic spot but that due to everyone else being so poor. This squad is good enough to get promoted however it is the style of play that worries me. It's just plain boring and negative which doesnt fit with the quoted future direction of the club. I'm just not sure LB can go positive his DNA has always been get a goal and hang on.1

Bogle subbed off early at Burton, Williams today, Morgan also getting stick in the post-match interview as well. Shouldn't these things be kept in-house. Have a go in the dressing room, don't rant about them to Louis Mendez (no offence Louis). How long before these players think 'fuck you' and stop playing for him?

Just you watch Williams steaming into a tackle when he finally manages to get back in.......and then misses the rest of the season through injury!!4

We have too many players who are not and have not performed well enough this season.
What is the reason, is it them or is the tactics not suiting the players?
I honestly don't know, but we have put in 4 poor performances in 5 games.3 -

Not disagreeing with you, just don't think we can solely blame the squad.
e.g. The players can only be told to do so much, then its up to them to go out on to pitch to follow those commands, they are grown adults after all - You get incidents like Burton where Bowyer would have told the players to pass it from the back but at the same time he probably doesnt need to tell them to only do so when its safe to do so, surely the players should have the common sense to make the right decision if it conflicts with what they've been told
For me I dont think players arent taking the opposition seriously enough because they're moving the ball too slowly, it took until some subs to actually get some urgency today (with Gunter sprinting up the pitch at one stage for a throw in) - Bowyer cant physically make them move into space when instead they act like statues etc. or tell them who the ball needs to go each time, thats where the player themselves need to have the brain to make the right decision themselves
And its why for me when it does come to the sack race
Is why the players get away with murder and its the Manager who becomes the fall guy4 -
If you even consider LB should be sacked you are a mug. After all he’s done here. After a few dud games? Football fans are a joke.8

Bowyer was probably getting stick from their fans as there is previous there and wanted to stick one on them which is probably why he is so angry.0

Think people should have an early night and reflect on their comments re Lee Bowyer in the morning.
He could have walked but stayed loyal to us, we should do the same.13
