Has Bowyer lost it?

You sound like a schoolboy. You can call me what you like. I have shared info in good faith. And J Block has too. It is just you don't want to hear it. It hardly matters if people like you believe it or not. You probably wouldn't believe it if the players told you.4

Callam can call J Block and me liars all he likes but when you know something you can't unknow it. Even, and this is a lesson for some, even if you would like to.
And whether these players are right or wrong, this is not what you want in a dressing room if you want to be successful.
Here’s what I know: on one side you have two senior pros who quite clearly stated there’s no dressing room unrest. Do I believe that everything is hunky dory at Sparrows Lane? No I’m not that stupid, players can see the constant formation changes etc and know that things aren’t working out as planned.
On opposite end of the spectrum, you have two blokes on an Internet forum (the two most vocal Bowyer critics at that) claiming they’ve spoken to squad players about Bowyers tactics and man management. You could well be telling the truth but I need more info before believing you.
The truth is probably somewhere in the middle but I’m sick and tired of the bleating on here & Bowyer’s time is clearly up anyway.0 -
hoof_it_up_to_benty said:AddickUpNorth said:The pool of potential managers who could come straight in is probably pretty shallow. The question is are any of that small number going to be good enough to achieve what TS proclaims he wants for the club? We’re going to be incredibly fortunate if that is the case.
I think a caretaker would be the right course of action if TS were to relieve Bowyer of his position in the near future. Get this season out of the way and assess where we go at the final whistle of the final game. There will probably be managers who want to look at their own futures who are currently employed and they may decide that the gig with us is worth pursuing. It would certainly give us more options than only looking at those who are currently unemployed.2 -

It could equally be foolish of Sandgaard to sack Bowyer if
- A - He doesnt have a list of targets
- B - He's confident that he'll get one of those targets
Based on the second assumption I wouldnt be surprised in the slightest if we pretty much get a replacement in the moment Bowyer is out the door - If Bowyer is to go now and we still have aspirations of the Play-Offs (even I snigger at that particular prospect now) then wasting three / four more games trying to find the right bloke could be just as pointless
We're not going to games so the atmosphere from the stands isnt effecting performances
I'm not saying that we shouldnt get rid of Bowyer, what I'm saying is if we are to get rid of Bowyer tomorrow, I'd be happier if we've got the new bloke coming in on Thursday - Lets not be one of these clubs that pisses about for weeks on end because we think we can get our first, second, third choice in and end up with someone else just for the sake of it that doesnt improve us.
If you aren't talking to them, you can bet your bottom dollar someone is.3 -

With the Manager you're talking to someone else about replacing one man "already" in the job
Was it West Ham though who sacked their Manager the last few years and spent aboslutely ages being linked with nearly every available Manager, person they chose they gave the usual: "He was our first choice" rubbish but you knew he wasnt0 -

I don’t need to hear it though cos I can see with my own eyes what’s going on
it’s horrible and no one wants us to be shit and that is what we currently are
for anyone holding on to the belief it’ll come right I’ll go a new route and use a trading analogy
it’s like being short Bitcoin at 15k and it’s just gone to 30k it comes back to 25k and you start chirping up it’s gonna be alright .... and then it’s 40k -50k etc etc
it’s a bad losing trade and it’s wrong so far wrong and people won’t let go of it .... yes being short at 15k was a good thing once upon a time when it was worth 5k but it isn’t now and times change
as hard as it is you cut your losses and move on to the next trade and taking losses is the hardest thing in the world to do ...
the madhouse is well and truly open tonight

Well this came out about the time of the Shrewsbury game. I would say don't put a lot of weight to it if we went on to even half decent form from there.1

1) Player recruitment/selling (lessened with Directors of Football around etc)
2) Training, team selection and tactics
3) Man management and motivation
You can argue that the lower down you go, the less tactics come into play (as lower players are less capable of playing funky systems) and motivation becomes more important. If one team of average players works harder and is prepared to "die for the shirt", they will do better than average players putting in less effort...0 -

If there is real unrest in the playing staff then Ged will absolutely know and it will definitely inform his recommendations to TS. Once players lose respect or faith in the manager then it’s all over. Add to that some shocking results and performances and it’s only a matter of when not if.0

Lee Bowyer has previously put together coherent teams, got players playing for him and eachother. He also said the right thing and rarely dug players out in interviews. This season he has sounded more like gobshite Karl Robinson, digging players out and nonsensical post match interviews full of excuses.LB has continually played players out of position. Losing the Inniss and Faemwo was unfortunate but replacing centre backs with Prately and Gunter didn't help at all. Virtually every week there has been chopping and changing of the centre back and full backs. If the centre backs need some protection and Charlton are conceeding lots of goals from 20 to 30 yards out then put in a formation that protects the defence and that area. Constant reactive formation changes is not good.Lee Bowyer is not putting out a coherent team for the players he has. The players this season often don;t seem to understand or have any belief in what Lee Bowyer's trying to do or the formation set out.The team today against Burton was confused and the second half the most disorganised I have seen a Charlton team. I would prefer to see him turn it around. I am not seeing any signs of that. Reluctantly it looks as LB has burnt himself out.

I assume Ged is at all games. It's funny that during the 9 game run last season, we knew everyone in the Directors Box (including Sue Parkes!) but now we never seem to see who's there0

I heard what I heard second hand from a trusted source, but J Block heard what he heard to his face.
I also believe Bielik when he said we had the best dressing room in football at Wembley. Bowyer should take immense credit from that statement. But something has changed and it probably isn't his fault, but even what you have all seen, not heard, you can reasonably deduce that we haven't had the best dressing room in football this season!

The higher up the pyramid the greater the details are and the specifics set to each individual player and especially the goalkeeper.
I think this maybe what the player was talking about. Was he from a higher league?
