We now have the money, the owner and the potential to do incredible things, I would be fuming if we go for Adkins.
If someone said there's a Danish coach called Bjorn-Nigel Adkins-Schmeichelson who won the league in one country, was promoted twice with one team, one of only 3 managers in recent memory to get double promoted to the top division, but for the last kick of the final day missing the playoffs with another team you'd be well happy!!4 -
If Jacko goes and we end up with Adkins I'll be gutted.2

Stick the two managerial CVs up side by side. On what planet is Jackson seen as the smart choice?23 -

Would be a real shame to see JJ go, he's always been there to pick us up when needed0

Andy Crosby who is usually Adkins number 2 has joined Port Vale today.

Jacko with Curbs as his mentor would be my ideal choice , but Adkins might be a good fit with the success he's had at several clubs .2

I liked the idea that maybe JJ thought Bowyer was a bit of a knob and was embarrassed by his awful man management. If they are actually a tight team then perhaps JJ has to share the responsibility for our poor form this season.0

But we need rebuilding from top to bottom, an experienced manager will be able to help a lot more than Jackson. From facilities to the correct backroom staff.1 -
Everyone puts Leicester's owners as the best in the country and yeah they are brilliant and have done an unbelievable job.
But they have also made appointments that have been questioned when I've researched it
1. First they sack Pearson and appoint Paolo Sousa. Sacked early on and did nothing of note before or after.
2. Then they bring in Eriksson. Cos he's a name it seems. Past it and was sacked early on again.
3. They then bring back Pearson. Does very well gets em up, keeps them there. They then sack him due to an off the field issue. Something involving his son I'm sure?
4. Bring in Ranieri. How many of them were positive about him at the time, you would struggle to find any lets be honest. They win the league, they then later sack him because it wasn't working out at all 2nd season and they looked as if they were going down.
5. Craig Shakespeare comes in and turns it around first half season or so and finish way clear of relegation under him. Appoint him as full time manager, doesn't work sacked in October leaving them in the bottom 3.
6. Claude Puel is appointed. Did decent, he got them in the top half first season. Second season he was sacked. Leicester fan I know says he wasn't well liked by fans and his football was boring. So bit of a mix.
7. Brendan Rodgers is next. I know he did a very good job at Celtic before going Leicester. But he was considered a bit of a failure still from how it ended in his Liverpool days. I'm sure there was a bit of split in opinion about him from fans, but I don't know. Now he's one of top managers in Britain and do a fantastic job, with players no way near as good on paper as the teams around them.
Yes Leicester are a different club and its all in different circumstances, but it goes to show that every successful ownership can have good and bad. Some appointments work out and others don't. There is no guarantees.

Right I think I've got to the bottom of this. Page 28:Addicktion said:I'm gonna stick my neck out here and say that I've heard murmurs of Nigel Adkins.
Probably get pelters but thought it was worth sharing. Would make sense with the Roddy connection.
Interesting, heard a murmur have you @Addicktion? Well going back through your posts you only have one other post on this thread but it was edited to be blank. I wonder what that said? Helpfully someone quoted you on page 17:objectivecafc said:Addicktion said:Nigel Adkins could be a shout? Managed to get Southampton promoted from Lg1 to the prem and could fit the long term model TS is looking for?

It's going to take a lot of transfer windows, a massive rebuild, probably some stale seasons etc. If Adkins can take us up and solidify us as a championship side again then that will be a fantastic start. Then you build.
I've already seen a few people directing tweets at Thomas telling him Adkins isn't welcome here and it's seriously making me bury my face in my hands10 -
