Ben Watson and Chris Gunter are probably the standouts

Imagine a few teams towards the bottom would enjoy having their experience

Where ever they go, I would drive them there.

Two lose both your main strikers is impossible to replace with players of the same quality at league one level you don’t have the budget for that sort of luxury ….. look at Norwich they looked powder puff up front till the brought Pukki on there main man and that’s only one striker

Very true. Even more frustrating however when you realise that whatever our budget is, some of it is being taken up by deadwood such as Watson, Gunter, Innis etc.

I always just wonder when people coin the we haven’t got the budget, it’s not in our budget phrase, how the actual fuck do they know such things, when they really can’t have any real idea!!. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Our squad is full but unbalanced due to signing players for a system we no longer play, which is frustrating. AND (something I wasn't happy about in the summer) the lack of U21 player signed, meaning they all count for the squad cap.

I feel slightly sorry for Gunter, in that at the moment he only seems to play as  the left sided CB of the 3, rather than the right sided CB where he's more comfortable. After all he only lost his place there due to his Welsh callup as he had been playing well there.

Will be a good signing for Villa, him and Coutinho down the left will be very dangerous. Think they're probably a top centre back and central midfielder away from being serious top 6 contenders next year.

They've got lots of decent attacking players but did lack that final bit of quality and are missing Grealish. Buendia been ok but Bailey not done much. Luiz and McGinn pretty decent in midfield but agree they need another one, Sanson has been a flop. 

Digne signing weird, they've got Targett with Young as cover.

Our squad wasn't even balanced for the formation we tried to recruit for.   The squad isn't as good as it was at the end of last season, when the time and effort spent on it suggests it should have been.

So many of the intangibles are missing.  We have 25ish good players (I don't think any of them are awful) but we don't have a great team, the right balance or the right blend.  We have 8 players who have no realistic cover in the squad and need at least 6 of them on the pitch to get results. That's piss poor.

Because one of the main reasons we are currently trying to see if we can break into League 1 play offs is because our main talisman refused to play and see out his contract (I shouldn’t have to explain it really) 

You don’t do that. Yes, there are many reasons we went down that year but if Lyle had played and put some of them chances away we just kept missing, we stay up. 

Either way, you don’t refuse to see out your contract because you have a better deal elsewhere and don’t want to mess it up. 

I find it amazing people would actually accept him back 😂

I'd accept him back if he signed a contract that includes doing several hours work per week for Charlton in The Community as way of apology.

Otherwise he can go eat shit.
