The return of Chuks makes me think there is more to Stockley's hip injury than first we thought8
-
Decent player especially at this level, I also think he left not because we wouldn't offer what he wanted but because Bowyer and others tempted him with Championship football. Still a shame that we are paying a decent fee for him.0

Also, due to people like Tracey Leaburn, people like coming back here i.e Cullen & Leko1 -

I even cheered @golfaddickup last year letting him know about the Aneke interest.9 -

Chuks on his way back for £300k 👏🏻👏🏻
It matters really because something isn't right. He apparently had lots of options in the summer. Now he has only us.
Perhaps he hasn't got to do a medical with us ?8 -

I heard that Chucks left with Bowyer as he was fed up with the boss getting untrue and unfair abuse from fans. 😉0

Defoe as a player !!!!!! he’s 39. 40 in October. Perhaps I should dig my boots out if that’s what we’re looking at.0

Either way, it’s great he’s coming back.7 -

We didn't even have DJ on our radar until tea time and got that done by 11pm.
With all due respect to who ever did the negotiations it can't be that complex deal unless there are sellons, England caps, Balloon D'Ors and image rights to consider.0 -

Brum fans reaction. Or rather, lack thereof.1 -
Glad he's on his way back, but why didn't we use that budget in the summer? Not to keep him, but on anyone else? Feels like this season has just been wasted for no reason0
-
Huh so it's not just us...

Now that things have changed, we have a new, different budget for the January window.2 -

Happy with Chuks signing but would be happier still if we sign a pacey striker to go with him.......Defoe-like but 15-20 years younger !!!0
-
Chuks is just what we need even if he has the odd injury,I back him to score 10 goals between now and the end of the season, also his presence will make chances for the rest of the lads.1

Of course, with hindsight we end up quoting that great manager, Mr E. Blackadder: "There was a tiny flaw in the plan: it was bollocks."6 -
Paddy Lane in next please Thomas.0

So the Aneke rumor true, bloody hell ! I cannot believe we have spent money on a player who I admit is a whole hearted player when on the pitch. But that is the point when on the pitch. He plays 30 to 40mins in a game and is shot.
Then lucky to see him in the next game.0 -

Adding Chuks (and JFC) replaces the squad positions taken by Ronnie and Arter.
Therefore unless we sign U21s, we have to move players on (or deregister them as with Ben Dempsey)1 -
When was the last time we wasn’t light on strikers? I genuinely can’t remember, I think the first half of 2018/19 about it, but even then we had Vetokele who was very injury prone.
Next season if we are continuing with two up top there has got to be cover for both, the legs and energy of Washington along with Presence and hold up play of Stockley. So poor watching a side toothless up top.1 -

Taylor, Bonne, Aneke and Hemed was decent enough quantity, even if Hemed turned out to be a massive disappointment0 -
