But more likely just a coincidence.

I take your point about first option though. It will be frustrating if he does well and we can't get him again in the summer.2 -
One thing I will say is that I'm surprised we've gone in for both Browne and John. Alongside Lee, I can't imagine we'll start with more than one of them so not sure we need all three.0

This doesn't feel very Charlton!!The underwhelming feeling is just the same.
My point stands. I'm pleased to see our business done relatively early, signing players we actually want rather than scratching around for whatever's available on deadline day3 -
Finding it really hard to get excited about any of our signings ATM. We will be looking to rebuild again in the summer with more loans and players with histories of long term injuries. On top of that (apart from staying up) our season is over.1

If John's still young, Brown's recuperating and Lee burnt out we have actual rotation not just on the pitch but on the bench as well.
Seems a good thing to me.0 -

We built that whole squad for around £1m.2 -
I see a point in signing loan players - give the team and fans a lift, ensure we don’t get sucked into a relegation battle and show potential summer signings that JJ is a capable manager.
Lee and Gilbey have needed stronger competition for a while. John and hopefully Browne will give them that. It might even mean we move Morgan on or send Lee back to Luton.
An 18 year old on his first loan is also someone we could realistically take back on loan next season.7 -

The line about the Pizza cup also suggests we’ve held back the John signing for whatever reason. John could have been a contingency in case we didn’t land other targets.0 -

We built that whole squad for around £1m.
They were in grave danger of folding and were desperate for cash, any cash, just to keep going.
Always bargains to be had when financially desperate clubs hold a fire sale to survive.

we've also signed a proven league 1 goal scorers and a loan from Chelsea who fits in with the formation the manager likes to play. When did we last have a better Jan window?2 -

If you dont like the loan signing...or the permanent signing..or any kind of signing without giving them a chance then dont watch the team, as I cant see the point when all you will do is moan more and more. Just mental.
We never signed enough then when we do there shit or "underwhelming" before kicking a ball.
There may not be much to play for in terms of promotion but we have to finish the season as strong as possible or just fade into obscurity which in turn, will have moaners out in droves anyway so whatever we do....it wont be enough. Pathetic really.10
