Didn't realise he was a Ghana International, so presumably we could lose him during the World Cup?
Highly likely... One Swindon fan has tweeted tonight claiming that the Ghana coach told Wollacott that he had to be playing at a higher level if he wanted to go to the World Cup later this year.

Its a lot less likely, but ironically we could actually lose both him and Maynard-Brewer to the World Cup.

Get back Jonny Williams and we can think about having games called off again ;)

Technically he hasn’t raided Swindon. Like Egbo, out of contract.

So I get the 'lets go for the best of league 2' angle. Would like to see more from 'the best of league 1' but its a start.

But there are more players in the world than Swindons finest.

We didnt like getting loads of players from Liege - and they included Bulot, Texeira and Buyens.
I wonder, and this is pure speculation, if we identified 3 or 4 Swindon players through the blackbox and then asked the question why and that led us to Garner?

The keeper, Payne, Reed, McKirdy and both full backs had great stats last season.  The center back we have already signed did as well.

Didn’t Swindon both score and concede the most in the league last season? Makes me think I’d rather be raiding their attackers than goalkeeper & defenders! *I watched 0 league 2 games last season so have no knowledge of how good these players are
Don’t worry he played up front for them last season!!🤣

Many fans will be happy to hear we are taking an interest in the Railway Museum in Swindon now. No doubt seen as a futher improvement to the training (get it) ground and to help the new players settle in more quickly. Toot toot.

Don't think he gets on with JJ

    That rumour sucks.
In a competitive sports environment there are disagreements but I just don't see how two guys like JJ and Jason would've anything other that a good professional working relationship.

I don't feel Jason wants to be number 2 to Jackson again but that's because he is ready to be the boss, decide Tatics and formations. He will get a job somewhere in the national League even if he has to go to National League North or South. Well respected in the England set up along with Chris Powell and amoungs the young coaches I know, many who are black, have only good things to say about Jason when they have met on courses or charity matches.

    Sorry but that's a rumour I heard...

Unless it came direct from Jason or JJ, I would discard it.

But there are more players in the world than Swindons finest. IF Reed and McKirdy came (or even one of them) then its getting laughable.

The best of league one go to the championship. I’d far rather get the best of league 2 than the worst of the championship. Also it’s about getting players to fit the style of play.

Another you and exciting signing. Keep ‘me coming!

This is going to sound rude but it’s far from my intention.  But absolutely no one on here is ITK on transfers anymore, the timing and the personnel are a mystery to us all it seems, and I’m thoroughly enjoying it.
I agree, that’s how signings used to be, I prefer not knowing until it happens.👍

Perhaps agents haven’t been involved in these signings so the news hasn’t ‘leaked’ to bump up the price.

    Trust. The. Process.
  • Not sure where to put this, but the usual characters on twitter have been talking about Thomas not paying the rent for the last three months.

It was to be expected, everything  around the club has been positive lately so they were bound to make something up.

The top of League quality isnt far off mid-table League One in terms of quality, so i'm happy taking the better players from the league below.
Yep.  Happy to hand pick the best players from league 2
Best players from League Two, yes - some anyway. But more than 3 or maximum 4 from Swindon would be pushing it too far. I can't believe that they are the best out there that are available to us. Happy with the transfer business so far but now let's show a bit of vision and ambition.
I understand what you're saying, but I've no problem with signing Swindon's best attacking players, seen as they were the best attacking team in the league last year
So we sign their full back.
lol SIKE, how about NOW :D

Not expecting it but in a way it would be hilarious if we put together a strong team and have a great season. Those characters would be waiting for it to go horribly wrong. For them every L2 signing is further proof we’re going backwards under TS.

Surely agents are involved in every signing. Not many footballers without an agent.

Perhaps Raelynn is buying Swindon to use as a feeder Club, adding them to the Network (🦆🦆 for cover, inexcusable WUMmery) 😎

    Nor goal keepers.
Dunno,.. Big Mac had an assist for Washington i seem to recall.. B)

That was my favourite goal of the season because I had a great view and Conor got it right that day unlike the Lincoln home game when he squandered 4 chances.  I had to move slightly as Jimmy Floyd's arse was in the way ! The female ref that day.

20 pass move where the ball starts with a pass from the keeper about 10 yards to a defender who is being closed down at a rate of knots. Great to see a swift passing move but mistakes will happen with the sweeper keeper who loves to dribble and do a Johan Cruyff turn.  Assist from the keeper I hope isn't disregarded.

Mix and match and keep the opposition guessing. Football really isn't rocket science but a manager needs to think on his feet and make adjustments and subs at the right time. I swear there are some things that can't be taught you just need to be quicker that the guy in the other dug out to find solutions or keep to the game plan if you believe it will work over the 90+ minutes.
Hate losing with a passion and get players who feel the same. Fire in your belly with a brain and skill is mandatory for incoming players. Raise the bar for all our players and let them know being mediocre isn't an option any more.

Sausagedog has been told one more Swindon player will be joining.
The obvious ones everyone will talk about are Mckirdy, Reed, Payne and Williams.

However we need an attacking left back and Ellis Iandolo had a good season for them. 7 assists.
And the keeper.  Him and Payne could be the easiest/most likely given they're out of contract.
I feel like we're unlikely to change keepers this season. Mac isn't a bad keeper at all, he just goes through a few too many phases. Having a defence in front of him that isn't made out of rice paper and sadness might help this season too, especially having a consistent one. In his first season with us he's had to line up behind a struggling back four in a team that could barely get the ball out of our half and then a back 5 that had wingers at wingback, fullbacks and central midfielders at centre back and a constantly rotating set of personnel. I think we had 8 different players line up at CB in various combinations. Keepers thrive when there's a consistent defence in front of them, he didn't even consistently have defenders in front of him. He also reacted to and improved a deficit in his game with his command of the box which was good to see. We have AMB hopefully ready to challenge, so I think given that no matter what Sandgaard puts in and how much we get in sell on fees there will still be a budget, there's a lot of empty priority positions to fill before we decide to change up a spot where there are two serviceable players. Switching the keeper for one more comfortable with the ball at his feet might be a season two job for Garner, but we'll see.
    Cool opinion bro.

It's no worse than the suggestion that everyone was best buddies and the whole gang would go to the, well, crazy gang.  Pearce, Washington, Euell even seen Gilbey mentioned.

If everyone was best buddies they would probably still all be here.

Gareth Barry said when he was at Man City, players were at each other in training and many a pushing and shoving took place. At Villa it was less intensity and fewer scraps on the training ground.

If your contact has told you different then fine but I still say JJ and Jason would've had a decent working relationship even thou I don't believe they would go drinking together.

Team spirit is a weird concept because it's funny that it's good when you are on a winning run and then it's poor when you are on a losing run. Football is a results business and always will be. Can never be completely stable.

Cole and Sheringhan only made up recently after never getting on after Teddy upset Andy/Andrew by not wishing him luck when replacing him as a sub for England. Everyone knew that because it was real and neither denied it.
