RJS/Leaburn and Kirk/CBT should be the pairings. At least that's how I read it.
I hate to say this but we should really enjoy him whilst we can. He's averaging a goal every 42 minutes so far in the league, which is insane.

The Wilks rumour feels a lot like the “we tried but couldn’t get it over the line” we heard in the early Roland years. Never felt genuine, appeared to be the club wanting to look like they were in for some exciting players.
The way things are off the pitch I wouldn’t be surprised if it was leaked by the club to look like money isn’t an issue. Making staff redundant and Garner talking about the budget doesn’t fit with a big L1 name like Wilks coming in.8 -
If last night has proved one thing, they’ve been completely on point with recruitment so far. The players that have come in look excellent and fit our new system really well.Let’s now trust Gallen, MS and Garner to complete their business over the next couple of weeks. I think we’ll see 2 in (a striker/left sided defender) and 2 out but we may have to be patient and wait till the end of the window.27

What sort of head honcho striker you getting for 3k a week and not a lot of fee?
When the January 21 window shut we had Stockley, Aneke, Washington, Shwartz and Davison. Now we have just the first two.
So either it's not a budget issue and that's been said to dampen expectations or something unexpected has, or hasn't, happened.
When your total wage bill is about 8 million quid 3k a week isn't much is it?1 -

Part of me is convinced by the Wilks rumours because he’s the perfect player for the badly spelt players names club. Mallik (double l) Wilks (no e) joins the likes of Igor Ventokele and Damian Matthews.8

I can only think that Charlton are playing games in the press about the striker.
I doubted it the other day that the club would be doin this, but what other reason can there be to say we are interested but the ones we want are effectively out of our price range? That’s how I read the article anyway.
It’s obvious to all that we need a new striker to cover or even start. Curbs and Minto saying the same.
No doubt there’s targets, and Wilks would be a great addition. Can’t see that happening myself. Stockton is a one season wonder in my opinion and offers nothing more than Stockley.
Stockton probably ends up at Wrexham who are chucking cash around on wages. Like they did with the striker last season.
Not sure a Prem loan would work. The kid would get bullied in our league.
Perhaps a championship player who’s not in the plans is the way forward. Same as we did with Stockley. Experienced at this level and has a point to prove.1 -
I think it is what has been said by SG and BG.
We need to move other players on to free up space in the squad and free up wages for the new boys.
Moving on the like of Gilbey and JFC won't be that easy IMHO hence the hold up.
The guy from Chesterfield feels more likely than Wilks or Stockton but I have no ITK knowledge4 -
I have a feeling that they will get Bonne back on loan , and loan out Leaburn to get some experience - as well as offloading JFC , DJ and Gilbey. - Garner said he prefers to work with a smaller squad. - The emergence of Clayden and Henry will add some depth and can always recall Deji at CB if required.14

Charlton often need other things to happen for transfers to take place.
There have been (low) bids for both JFC & Gilbey from the same club.
if clubs we are looking to buy from, hold out for fees, then it makes sense that we hold out as well to balance the budget……. Bids happen and are rejected or put on hold…… it sometimes needs one to be accepted for the dominos to fall….. and sometimes those dominos don’t fall at all. Gallen’s role is key.18 -

I heard last night that JFC, Gilbey and McG all going, 2-3 coming in, as those moves transpire.Spoke to a few players, AMB in particular a very nice bloke to talk to. His shoulder op was a success, 2.5 months until full recovery/fitness, games for Gills to fulfil his loan and then back to compete for the no1 spot (is the plan). He was not source of any info btw other than where he is at.
Clare’s knee was fine, despite him needing an ice pack on it when it came off. He is another lovely lovely guy to have a bit of a chat to. Just very easy going. JRS is the ‘Chill-master’ that boy is so mellow and very welcome at the best club in SE London. And Miles, I am just praying we can hold on to for a while yet. How good is he?
A real buzz around all the players my kid and I spoke with that I have not seen in a long long time.87 -

After the Mason Burstow situation, let's not go overboard on Miles Leaburn despite his good start. We have been here so many times before, let him learn the game as he will have a full complement of defenders next time he plays. Decent start but young players need to learn so much including when we are out of possession. Same applies to Rak Sakyi who has to learn when to pass and when to shoot despite his fine debut last night.24
