A little harsh. Away from home & down to 10 men. They wont go down & will finish mid table. Dont know what else is to be expected. Have some decent players but they're not spending millions every season and with the emergence of Newcastle and a few others they wont be challenging for the European places.MrOneLung said:Gerrard sacked0 -
Villa have a net spend of 260m in the 4 years since they got promoted. That puts them 7th in the 5 year net spend table even though they've only been in the PL for 4 of those years.golfaddick said:

With the money they've spent i think the owners are entitled to expect better than 17th. Whilst i'm sure they don't expect to be challenging for Europe, they'd definitely expect to be doing better than the likes of Brentford, Southampton, Fulham and Bournemouth.0 -
They could very easily have gone down under Gérrard. They've been dreadful. Can't score and can't keep cleansheetsgolfaddick said:

The Irish FA has parted company with Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough, BBC Sport NI understands.
The decision was taken at a board meeting on Thursday evening.
NI have won just four of their 22 competitive fixtures under Baraclough, who replaced Michael O'Neill at the helm 28 months ago.
He departs after his side avoided relegation to the fourth tier of the Nations League despite losing to Greece last month.

Villa should get him and get rid of Stevie G. Seems more and more obvious each week he was doing all the donkey work at VillaSELR_addicks said:0 -

Gary Caldwell has been appointed the new Exeter manager. He had a decent L1 season at Wigan, winning the title.0 -
Jesse Marsch must be on borrowed time.
Started the season well with 7 points from 9, including destroying Chelsea. Since then 2 points from 8 games.0 -
I reckon he'll get a couple more games, probably while someone else is lined up .. Fartface Johnson (another American) is availableChris_from_Sidcup said:Jesse Marsch must be on borrowed time.

Gary Caldwell has been announced as the new Exeter Manager
Hope they've got the version that did well @ Wigan rather than anywhere else
His career has been disappointing after a good start0 -
Did ok when he was caretaker manager at Man U.
Getting into a championship relegation battle is a very tough start in management though.1 -
agreed, he's from the N E and from where Boro are, for him nearly the only way is upChris_from_Sidcup said:Did ok when he was caretaker manager at Man U.

Just shows the pull of the Premier league when a manager who has won 4 Europa leagues, was manager of PSG as recently as 2018, reached the Champions league semi finals last year, and had his side 7th in La Liga and he leaves for a side 15th in the PL.Addick Addict said:Emery appointed Villa Manager2 -
West Bromwich Albion have appointed former Huddersfield manager Carlos Corberan as their new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Daft decision to sack McCann earlier this year, just to bring in his own man. An interesting U-turn to bring in a local manager again.clive said:Hull City have appointed Liam Rosenior as their new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

I like Rosenior. He comes across as an intelligent thinker about the game and if things work out for him he will still be managing a Championship club next season and the one he left may well still be in League 1.clive said:Hull City have appointed Liam Rosenior as their new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Wolves have appointed Spaniard Julen Lopetegui as their new manager after he had initially turned them down.
The 56-year-old will take charge on 14 November, with the Premier League pausing for the World Cup.
