Surely the draw isn't an option.Addick Addict said:England 2.44

We either get 5 wickets or they will get the runs in time.0 -
Or they lose a couple and shut up shop for a draw.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

We could've had 5 overs post tea on Day 4 and got another 30-50 runs. Still would've dangled the carrot on a very good surface.2
-
253-5
90 runs needed at probably about 3 an over given the light issues0 -
Are they seriously reviewing that?0
-
We have to review that0
-
We have three reviews and nothing to lose even if it is missing0
-
Cometh the hour cometh Leach. Time is stand up even if he just contains and gives the quicks a bit of respite because figures of 62-11-242-2 in the game aren't exactly great0
-
How much play would we realistically get after tea based on previous days? 1.5 hours?Addick Addict said:253-5

Would they play on a bit longer even if getting dark if a result was imminent (say Pak needing 20 runs)?0 -

I don't think they can play on if it gets dark - it will be "decided" by whatever is on the umpires' light meterChris_from_Sidcup said:

I can say fairly confidently that, no matter how Bazball it gets, that won't be beaten as worst shot of the series2

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! How is that missing?????Addick Addict said:

I can only assume that the review system takes no account of the dead pitch0
-
Probably a maximum of 25 overs I would have thought to be bowled at the pace we want to bowl them out depending on the match conditions. They will come off based on the reading when they came off first in the Test.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

We declared just a tad too soon.0 -

Pakistan 2.16

And as no one knows what that figure is I'm sure it can be manipulated.Chizz said:

Atherton reckons about 20 overs to go. Pakistan lose a quick wicket and they will probably shut up shop. As a result of that, in the space of 10 minutes the prices have now moved to:
England 4.30
Pakistan 2.10
Draw 3.35

The umpires know. So, yes it could be 'manipulated', but if we think the umpires might consider doing that, we might as well not play.golfaddick said:

Pakistan coming out with some serious intent since tea.
12 balls, 0 runs.0 -
And this is probably a very pertinent question. Is DRS updated according to pitch conditions or does it just take some sort of uniformal estimate based on historic pace, where it pitches and distance to travel? It won't be able to do that to the nth degree because the brand new ball taken by Leach in the first innings will bounce far more than the one bowled by him in the 73rd over of the second innings even if it pitches in exactly the same spot.Addick Addict said:I can only assume that the review system takes no account of the dead pitch0 -
New ball is now available but we have chosen not to take it straightaway0
-
Massive review this. England players cheering because it's clearly hit the pad and then bat. But is the ball hitting the stumps?
Oh yes it is!!!!!!0 -
Here we go!0
-
What that wicket has done to the market:
England 2.38
Pakistan 6.20
Draw 2.38

I think that they decided that they wanted to take it deep and then launch their attack rather than risk losing a wicket straightaway and expose the tail with 20 overs plus to goChris_from_Sidcup said:Pakistan coming out with some serious intent since tea.

Not really having the luck. Ball hits the stumps from a ball from Robinson and the bails do not move!0
