What’s happening re the squad looks to me all about short termism. Stop gaps all over the pitch. There’s nothing telling me who we’ve signed is about building for the future. The positive view might be clearing the decks for new owners who can’t get things done for this window but don’t want squad clutter down the line (summer ?) The negative view is we can only afford short term stop gap deals and want permanent high earners gone. You pays your money and you makes your choice.
Try before you commit and maybe a cleansing of the bad feeling that other managers have complained about.
So a third take could be the start of a summer rebuild, and for all the moaning, we were always going to need that to actually challenge next season.0 -
