  • That Tchouameni shot gave me flashbacks to December...

Two great strikes for the goals, fit for a Champions League Semi final.
Real Madrid are a vastly talented team but they do cheat. Man City showed their class on a very hot night.

Camavinga should’ve had a second yellow for a blatant dive right in front of the ref with about 5 mins to go, not long after his first. Ref totally bottled it and gave him a free kick. Ridiculous. Either incompetent, intimidated or corrupt.
  • Very good game between easily the best two sides in Europe.
  • Madrid 14 points off Barca in the league and 3rd in the table. They are a different animal in Europe tho as we saw tonight.

Liverpool also have that ability to raise themselves in Europe too, as shown by reaching the CL final 5 times during a period when they've only won one Premier League, whereas United have only reached the modern CL final 4 times, and Arsenal once.

'Only' 4 CL finals from United - proper rubbish!

    Man U - 13 Premier Leagues, 4 CL finals, 2 CL wins
Liverpool - 1 Premier League, 5 CL finals, 2 CL wins

That's a poor return in Europe for a club which dominated domestically for 20 years.
  • Madrid in Europe are like Millwall against Charlton.

I am sure someone like "cough cough" Callum will prove this wrong but Madrid seriously over perform in Europe.  Its remarkable over nearly 70 years.

I know people talk about DNA and getting a club but that level or consistency, at that level is bonkers.  Barca didn't win it at all.for decades.  Brian Clough won it more often than Barca is his life time.

They have win it more than 2nd and 3rd put together.   They have won it more than Barcelona, Man United, Juventus and Inter combined.
  • Real didn't win it for 32 years either between 66 and 98 - longer than United went between 68 and 99 for example.

For ages it was just skewed by them being the best team for the first 5 years with Di Stefano, and when it was easier, not all countries took part etc.

But they've been so good again in recent years.  4 out of 5 CL in this day and age with the amount of good teams is crazy.

  • They definitely over perform in Europe.

A measure of this is that Modric for example has been at Madrid since 2012.  In that time he has won:

    3 La Liga
    2 Copa del Rey
    5 Champions league

5 domestic trophies in 11 years for a club of Madrid's size in a 3 team (and often 2 team) league isn't all that. But still they dominate Europe.
  • Real do seem to over perform but they also enjoyed a ridiculous amount of good fortune in last year's competition. 2nd best by a stretch in 3 consecutive games yet still won it.
  • City haven't lost a CL game at the Etihad since 2018. A run of 23 wins and 2 draws, which includes 2 wins over Madrid.

I genuinely feel like they'll never get a better chance to win this tournament. If they don't win it this year, it will haunt them.
Fair, but also essentially its a one off game. Yes Man City are the best team left and they have a great chance, but as we know with football there are no gurantees.

Last nights was a great example, first half an hour City dominate yet Real Madrid score a screamer with effectively their only chance. The second half Real Madrid were the better team or at least competed and City ended up equalising.

If City played Real at the Etihad 10 times, you could argue they would win 7/8, draw 1/2/ lose 1 , all subjective, but its all on the night. I really do hope its their time as they have shown they are the best team in the world by winning the best league in the world consistently in recent years. Surely it's when and not if they will win the Champions league?
  • Sounds deafening inside the San Siro!
  • Two youngsters with the goals for Inter !
  • Two youngsters with the goals for Inter !
That finish from Dzeko was brilliant
  • Fans in the away end giving it the "Milans a shithole, I wanna go home!"

Electric start to this game. Inter almost 3 up with only the width of a post keeping them out
  •  Why have the Inter strikers so much space in and around the box ?

AC Defenders just seem to mark no one !
    Just bizarre.

  • Forza Inter!
  • Penalty Inter, could be all over bar the shouting this.
  • Penalty for 3-0 on the half hour mark
  • Overturned by VAR!
  • Penalty for 3-0 on the half hour mark

    Overturned by VAR
  • Questionable decision to change that
  • You can’t give a penalty for a touch that wasn’t as hard as a tickle. The falling player didn’t make any contact which was what I thought happened on first viewing. Attacker threw himself to the ground when the hand brushed him
  • Kjaer pushed Martinez in the back.
  • McManaman and Ferdinand need sacking

Saying it was 100% a penalty and shouldn't have been overturned

He was barely touched and went over, was a terrible decision and was rightly overturned
  • Kjaer pushed Martinez in the back.
    He touched his back
