But seriously, the obsession with him has to be one of the weirdest ones on here in a long time. He has had one proper goalscoring season in his career. he's 29. He had an absolute pig last season and covered up for it a bit by going on a spree in the last 4 games when it was too late to help his team much. He has 80 career league goals and more than a quarter of them were in one season, a season which he then couldn't repeat. If you compare his record to anyone it would be Nicky Ajose, and as I remember that turned out very well for us. It really does speak volumes that instead of going to a promotion-pushing team he's signed for a club that knowingly picked up Oshilaja, McGillivray, Kirk and Lavelle. Best of luck to him.0

Well he appears to have been involved with Spiegel, but this all seems like he has crossed across to Methven's lot.0 -

It won't stop us signing players, but maybe the ones that is top of Holden list.4 -

When buying a company you can legally prevent the target company acquiring or disposing of assets that you don't agree to.
ie Leaburn etc
So I hope they stop any pissing about by TS and MS!0 -
DubaiCAFC said:Sounds like Storrie is also having a big say on transfer at the moment, and only going one route through John Smith the agent and his brother, and guess who May's agent is?? Think the whole Charlton have bid for May is agent talk at the moment! Not sure Holden wants him!
Covered End Lad, any comments?0 -

Burton have signed Josh Gordon from Barrow
15-goals in League Two last year for them - Dark horses with their firepower potentially for next season?0 -
Too much playground analysis. Proof is in the pudding, which has not been served yet!1

If it’s a freebie we are after then I hope we are looking at Sam Smith from Cambridge. Scored a few at the back end of last season to keep them up.7

Sounds like someone has heard that fans aren't very happy and is chucking out a quick line to shift the blame and feed the gristle a bit. Very convenient that everything just so happens to be Sandgaard’s fault isn't it....16

There are rules in place that prevent prospective new owners from having any financial influence on a club before a takeover is official. It’s Sandgaard financing any deals or nothing at this stage. All this talk of The new lot having their own men in place and wheeling and dealing is pie in the sky.6

House analogy alert - try getting keys and redecorating before you have bought the house!0 -

The club hasnt been sold, Sandgaard is still the owner and we continue with the current management set up, hardly an excuse or "the blame game" is it, its either Martin and co. or no one to recruit.4

We're somehow lead to believe that TS has both given up completely and wants nothing else to do with us, not paying any fees etc but AT THE SAME TIME he's got his son to interfere with the process and make his own lists etc and generally make things difficult.
I'm not for a single second saying that Sandgaard’s not made mistakes or got things wrong but why would he bother wasting his time actively screwing things up. Best result, he gets his money anyway and fucks off. Worst result, it goes wrong at the 11th hour and he's got more bills to pay.
Doesn't add up, sorry.2 -

Don’t think it will fall thru but in the not to distant future it will be same again. Ie looking for new owners.
As for Martin Sandgaard and his magic box if Holden could speak face to face would love to see it. Think Martin is safely in the USA never to return.
We don’t have the staff in numbers or correct staff to run the place as it should be run.
Thats my way of our situation thinking out loud.0 -

Best of luck to him.Morecambe's season did pretty much finish in mid-April. They had too much to do to stay up by then. That's sort of how it works, if you lose all your games at the start then going on a three match winning run doesn't really help. His excellent hold up play did yield one assist though and brought other players into the game to the tune of the 6th lowest goals scored tally in the league. His overall tally isn't bad, that's true, but again 23 of those goals were in one exceptional season. Out of interest, what is from what you've seen beyond two games at The Valley? I don't think I'm overly harsh, I just see him for what he is, which is an average L1 striker who had one standout season. Not a career to be sniffed at but not the kind of player you want to sign if you need to rebuild your team for a promotion tilt. Other teams evidently think the same which is why he's gone to Burton, 15th place in L1.I just get very tired of these transfer window fixations we get into as fans. One or two players are always identified as our saviour and if we don't sign them it's meltdown. When we actually do make the signing though it doesn't seem to help. Scott Fraser had one excellent game against us and it was all anyone could talk about. The fact next game he was marked out of the game by Darren Pratley was ignored and now he's...fine. He's ok, he's good sometimes. Not the missing piece. A couple of summers ago we were desperate for Sandgaard to push the boat out for Charlie Kirk, he'd fix us. I forget how that ended. Maybe Stockton will have another 20 goal season at Burton, maybe he won't, but I think he'll end his career without any big promotion team thinking he was good enough. He'll definitely score against us for Burton though. And Deji probably.1

The quicker they leave the club the better, slowly draining the life out of us. MS knows jack shit about football and needs to do one. Presently not looking great for the season ahead…..again. Weren’t we meant to be pushing for Europe by now?1

Don't care who we sign, so long as we start with a full squad. If, Holden has given his backing to whoever signs, then I'm OK with that.
I knew nothing of Rak Sakyi last term and he's got to have been the best player at the club in years. Age, experience and reputation mean nothing when they step over that white line. It's doing the job that they have been given to the best of their ability is all I care about.
New blood please, whoever is pulling the strings.
