I find all the actions of the JSO and Insolate Britain, etc, really piss boiling. I honestly think these protests are not hurting anyone other than us poor mugs, nobody is running to their mp to demand further green motions because they have been delayed. This will lead to further reductions in our rights to protest. As a member of the emergency services I can guarantee this has delayed some first responders either directly or due to the further chaos on the surrounding roads caused by these actions.
However a bloke beating up a young lad offering no response is the act of a coward. A coward that knows he has just tried to force his way into another lane and dented his prize merc.5 -

Just to add. I understand people have genuine concerns and I am in no way mocking how they feel.
The only thing I mock is the JSO tactics that disrupt people going about their lawful business. Ceertainly not helping their 'cause'.3 -

If that was a group of football supporters the old bill would come in very heavy handed but for some reason this lot are given a free pass.
I don't agree with the bloke doing what he done but if the police refuse to do their job don't be surprised to see things like this more often.
As I understand it the protestors are operating in line (at the margins maybe) of what they are 'allowed' to do & hence creating the disruption they do. It consumes a lot of police manpower as it is to shepherd them along etc. They remove them (I think) when they can.0 -

furious motorist punches and kicks a Just Stop Oil protestor
I would justify it by explaining it is direct action against the cause of the traffic jam, after attempts to discuss the situation with the leaders of JSO led to no change.4 -

You stated they are not doing their job. Not sure that is wholly true.0 -

Glue themselves to the road.
I would shut the road and set up a diversion and leave the pricks in their own piss and shit0 -

You stated they are not doing their job. Not sure that is wholly true. The police don’t ordinarily have the ability to make a cup of tea for themselves. Did a member of the public pass it to them or was it given out of concern in some way ? I simply don’t know. But you suggest they choose not to do their job. That I don’t buy.0 - Sponsored links:

Absolutely fascinating read, I always find it interesting how different posters views can be about such an important topic.
If anyone bothers to read, I'm gonna share my views, I must warn you they are quite morbid but I've actually found a lot of peace in acting this way.
What I've come to realise is humans are basically just self-destructive/lazy and no matter what sort of effort you put in to make the world a better place, someone is gonna fuck it up at some point anyway.
Slightly random stories but bare with, I went to take the bins down the other day in my flat, there are 5 waste bins. I see the middle one full to the brim and think ah FFS bin men haven't come. I go to the bin nearest the door, lift the lid and low and behold, empty. So out of interest, I then open the other 3 closed lids, all minimal waste and then it hit me. These lazy fucks instead of using another bin and making the effort to open a bin lid, are causing a mass pile up in one bin. It pissed on my chips a little but I thought, fuck it, life goes on.
I get in my car (I know what an anti-eco scumbag) and I'm driving about and see a bit of traffic swerving in my local area, about ten or so cars all swerving on a 20 zone so I think, must be a bump in the road, holding the care up. Nope, a road sign has fell into the road, 20mph road stand still traffic, not one of these people think 'i could just move it quick and then people won't have to keep swerving their cars into the next lane'. So anyway I move the sign and think you lazy bastards again.
Now I know this day is already really riveting post but I get to my families for a dinner, roughly about 16 people knocking about, all decent people, respectable, good jobs, funny witty people who I respect. So the BBQ is on and everyone knows I'm vegan there and when I am putting my food on, they're looking at me like I've stripped down or something. All my friends and family eyeing up my food, 'ugh what even is it'. All I can think is, how am I the weird one, eating a corpse genuinely upsets me, but I'm being given the eye? They are all aware of the impact eating meat has and just in general how it's pretty disturbing, yet they can't even give that up. So I'm thinking, I bet it's you fuckers who would swerve the sign or leave the bin lids open.
Just sort of had an epiphany (obviously not strictly because of those events, very much tongue in cheek) that we are royally fucked. We just arent grateful collectively for life itself and sabotage it any given opportunity. There's always corruption, always a hierarchy, always someone wanting to be a tyrant/narcissist etc. I don't think it will ever change,
So I just thought, fuck it, I don't care anymore. I just try and be nice, enjoy my life as much as I can while being mindful of what impact I may have and just accept we're doomed no matter what.
People will believe what they want to believe and do what they want to do at the end of the day. I credit people who have the energy to go out of their way to try and convince other people to change their ways, unfortunately from experience and as I can see in this thread, you just can't convince some people7 -

I have absolutely no problem with this. They should go for the houses of parliament next - chuck some orange paint during PMQs or something - how about blocking the traffic to and from downing street as well.

Humans are flawed (supporting Charlton is one sign of that!) i believe most people just don't care to enough about climate change when they go on their short haul holidays, drive cars, by products that are made in China/India.
I do the same so i'm part of it. I just can't see us going back to a more basic life at this stage.0 -
Just Stop Oil are accused of deploying 'antisemitic tropes' after comparing oil executives to the Nazi architects of the Holocaust | Daily Mail Online
ignore the fact its the mail, it was the fist link to the story when i googled it.
they cant seriously think any good can come from comparing people to Nazi's in charge of the holocaust0 -
