I was in The Red Lion in Westminster yesterday and paid £15 for two drinks. Then I saw a framed letter on the wall from Fullers Brewery congratulating the pub for taking £90+k in a week. Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?4

I'm gladdened to hear that 30 years later its still £1 a pint.
Clowns was the "wine bar" upstairs and Jesters was the night club downstairs (although quite how the stairs passed any fire regulations I'll never know).
Even during the height of summer, when it hadn't rained for months, you would somehow stagger out of Jesters with trousers covered in mud.

I agree that its strange to be promoting a revenue turnover. I'm sure that certificate was for staff rather than customer eyes...0 -
Having down a pub crawl in London tonight, I genuinely think depending on area most pubs in London can charge whatever the f*ck they like. If they’ve got a thing going on where they’re popular with people standing out on the street when the weather is nice like tonight, fill your boots.I covered about 20,000 steps tonight and everywhere was rammed.1

My eldest son purchased tickets for James Acaster as Christmas presents. It made for a lovely outing for me and my two sons last night.
Anyway, long story short, I found myself alone in Hackney with 45 minutes to spare, so I wandered into the local Weatherspoons and asked for a pint of Doombar. 'That's off', the barman said. 'What bitters do you have?', I asked earnestly. He gabbled something that I didn't quite catch, but I still said, 'OK I'll have one of those'.
It turned out to be a pint of Worthington's, but the real surprise was the price ... £1.49. That's (in mini printer terms) One pound, forty nine pence. When I got home I had to google it and sure enough that is the correct price for the 'Monday Club' at Weatherspoons.
The show was very enjoyable btw, although I couldn't help but notice I was probably thirty years older than anyone else. My sons scanned the audience and moderated this to just 10 - 15 years older which was very kind of them - well it was Christmas.
